23.01.2022 The new WASSP F3 Multibeam sonar is available now. This new equipment utilises chirp technology to provide clear watercolumn imagery, as well as defined seafloor. As the system is chirp, the transmission and receive frequency can be shifted to avoid interference with other echosounders/sonar/ etc

20.01.2022 Our new website has gone live. www.fremantlemarine.net.au Plenty more updates are coming

18.01.2022 We are still open and trading with limited staff. We can still install and service equipment as per usual. Due to COVID 19 we are maintaining safe distances, cleaning surfaces, and practising all regulations as per guidelines.

17.01.2022 OLEX 14.4 is available to download now. Extras include a new default settings option, supports modern id on older machines, has better control over visibility of AIS target names, enables bulk changes of line colours and symbol types. This new version also supports more than two displays with an onscreen configuration to simplify setup. The image attached is of some seabed data for the NW of Australia, showing depth changes. This high-resolution dataset is available from us upon request.

17.01.2022 Fremantle Marine have successfully converted DOT charts to work with OLEX navigation systems. Here is an example of a RASTER chart of the TWO ROCKS area, with a 3D view of the recorded seabed as an inset. This is on the latest OLEX release v11.1, which has many enhancements for mark visibility, GRIB, Mark handling, along with sounder processing. The DOT charts are available for the entire west coast of Australia. The second image is a HARDNESS raster chart of the TWO ROCKS area, with recorded seafloor overlayed.

11.01.2022 OLEX have released their ATEC 200 Multibeam. This Multibeam has some similarity to the ATEC 400: 180 degree swath width, extremely accurate hardness, and full auto mode. However with the lower 100Khz frequency the usable depth has been extended to 500+Mtrs. With 100-800Khz operating frequency (with selectable 0-40Khz bandwidth) this multibeam has a huge advantage of being able to provide deep water usage, as well as highly accurate shallow water detail. Typical range resolution is <10mm.

11.01.2022 OLEX Multibeam "ATEC" showing hardness mapping down to 260Mtr depths. The latest software has great advances in hardness calibration and depth accuracy. This multibeam offers variable width aperature from 70-180degrees, meaning it can map 300Mtr of seafloor in just 15Mtr of water!

10.01.2022 Hondex have released their new seabed mapping sounder/plotter 12" combo unit. The HDX-121 can display seafloor contours recorded from the inbuilt echo-sounder in either depth shading, or by seabed hardness. With a 1-2KW transmitter at 50/200Khz, this combination unit will work down to approximately 800Mtr depths. This unit also has the ability to rewind the echosounder image, and mark directly from the sounder onto the plotter.

08.01.2022 One of the more unique installations we have completed in the last month. This vessel has two Garmin 8417MFDs, which are interfaced to almost everything on this vessel. The owner wanted seabed analysis and mapping, so we used a Koden CVS702D 3kw sounder feeding into Olex 3D. The sounder is unique in that it is being fed motion data and heave sentences in different formats, from a MRU(motion sensor) mounted at the CG point of the vessel. The MRU provides a hemisphere and T...SS1 sentence, the latter used within Olex 3D for the analysis of the vessel motion and heave. Both the Olex and Koden units can be shown on either display in either a window, or a full screen display. The 8417s provide display aspect stretching, allowing any size or resolution window to be displayed. Radar is a Garmin GMR24 Fantom Doppler, Autopilot is a Garmin Reactor 40 which is also fed data from the MRU. The vessel has 3 GPS receivers, 2 of which are Garmin 19X 10hz, the primary GPS is a bit of a secret, but outputs position, attitude data at 25hz!!! This allows the Olex 3D, Koden, and the 8417MFDs to have extremely fast position updates. Dash switches are all custom laser etched, some are 3 position providing 2 functions from the one switch. The twin yanmar inboard diesels are also interfaced to the Garmin display, making for a very intuitive system. See more

08.01.2022 Garmin have released news of their new 8410 / 8412 / 8416 MFDs. These exciting new Multi Function Displays offer FHD (full HD 1920x1080 resolution with IPS). All models feature HDMI output as well as HDMI (HDCP) input, meaning that they can be used as a high resolution monitor. All 3 models now offer dual 1KW sounders internally, as well Ultra HD transducers ports. Support for InReach mini is included, along with a host of improvements for networking, autopilot functionality, new radar models, and Bluechart G3 (navionics support). Expected product availability in Australia is Q1 2019.

08.01.2022 New high resolution bathy(3D) charts are available for OLEX. Coverage so far includes Fremantle and surrounding areas. Data is processed for pitch/roll/heave and has been tidal corrected.

05.01.2022 OLEX have released V12.0 software. There are many additions with this version, namely the inclusion of the SUBSONUS subsea tracking system. With one vessel mounted transponder multiple tags can be monitored up to 1000Mtr from the vessel, with high speed and absolute accuracy. The exact lat/long, pitch/roll, depth of each tag can be reported in OLEX in real time (1HZ or faster). This is an amazing system for ROV, Trawl Monitoring, Fishing Traps, Divers or any subsurface mon...itoring. Each remote tag has an 18 month battery life, wireless charging and an 2000Mtr depth rating. OLEX have also included C-MAP chart cartography to the list of acceptable charts along with Navionics and ACES. Hardness/Backscatter from a large range of sounders is now available including Simrad ES80, Koden CVS series, WASSP Gen1/2/3, ATEC 200/400, Kongsberg EM series, JRC, and ROXANNE. Shapefiles can be added as either charts or points, as can Raster chart tiles.
