08.01.2022 FRESHIE DADS held its annual fundraising event on Sunday, hosting a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle in Claremont for Father’s Day. We had a wonderful team of 18 dads plus some grand-dads and kids working together selling hotdogs from 7am to 4pm. We had a lot of fun over the course of the day with dads getting to connect and the kids did an amazing job working the till (good math’s practice), spruiking for customers and learning the fine art of BBQ-ing. Despite the unfavorable weathe...r in the afternoon, the team managed to collect $569. The money raised will be put towards organising future activities for dads and kids over the next few school terms. These activities are to provide opportunities for fathers and father-figures at the school to bond with their kids and connect with other fathers. We’d like to thank our sponsor D'Orsogna for their generous support of this event, providing some amazing sausages which were very popular with our customers. Steve On behalf of Freshie Dads.

02.01.2022 Book Week is always an exciting time across the school. This year Tangney 3 and 4 created their own stories based around Bruce Pascoe's Young Dark Emu. The stories can be read on Open Night, being held on Thursday 17 September 4.30pm to 6.30pm, in the Yarning Circle amongst all the other extraordinary displays designed and created by our talented teachers and students. We look forward to welcoming all our community to the event.

02.01.2022 Yesterday the Town of Claremont in collaboration with a class of year 3 and 4 students from Freshwater Bay Primary school, had the pleasure of meeting a group of local senior citizen volunteers to promote the upcoming Seniors Week. The morning saw the students mingle with the seniors, playing games and engaging with them in small groups, discussing how these seniors viewed ageing and what the students thought getting old meant. They enjoyed a delicious morning tea. It was a gorgeous opportunity for an intergenerational connection, the students enjoyed gaining advice from the older members of our community and it allowed the seniors to see themselves through a younger lens.

02.01.2022 This week T6 performed The Little Red Hen in French for Hughes 1 and Hughes 2. Their timing, expression and pronunciation was fantastic, and the PP buddies thoroughly enjoyed the show. Little Red Hen's friends are reluctant to help sow the seeds, cut the wheat or make the flour but expect to eat the delicious bread which results from Hen's work. After the show, the PPs described a good friend in their own words - they suggested kind, caring, respectful and helpful. Bravo! We are looking forward to French Day next Wednesday!

02.01.2022 Buddy classes - Year 2 C6 and Year 5 T3 worked together on a special project to create cards/posters of gratitude for Health workers in Victoria who still remain very much on the front line. The words and drawings of thanks, encouragement and affirmation were sent to the Royal Melbourne Hospital. We hope it lifts the collective spirit.

01.01.2022 The string students have been learning a special selection of 'French-themed' pieces from their repertoire. They have enjoyed learning these songs over the past term and thought it was only fitting to share with you all on French Day! Merci Flavia Todea.

01.01.2022 Welcome to Tangney 1's beautiful assembly.
