23.01.2022 Australian Red Cross has recently received a fair bit of criticism regarding their immediate distribution of funds (or a supposed lack thereof) to the victims of the Australian bushfire crisis. Please don't believe everything MSM tells you, the following statement and the link below might provide some more context... "We need to retain some funds for a minimum three year recovery program in affected communities, so when the world’s attention turns away and the story moves on... locals don’t feel left behind. We have committed to staying in these communities, working with them once their needs become clearer; especially as the bushfires are continuing to burn and the full extent of the needs is yet to emerge. We will not move on. We know from our long experience in disasters that recovery takes time and effort. 05.01.2022 The Queensland government has rejected local milk supplier Maleny Dairies in favour of an offshore deal with French-owned Lactalis Australia and Chinese-owned Lion Dairy. This being despite the Qld government stating the following on their Department of Housing and Public Works website: "Our Buy Queensland approach to procurement puts Queensland jobs as the first priority. The Queensland Government Procurement Strategy ensures informed decisions are made about how government ...funds are used to prioritise Queensland businesses, support local jobs in regional Queensland and achieve more positive outcomes on behalf of taxpayers."
