24.01.2022 Hope you all stayed warm and dry this windy weekend! We were at Donnelly River and loved it as always! The Village is open for guests and for day visitors to check out the heritage signs and the animals and have a cuppa and cake. If you are coming from Bridgetown, Mockerdillup Road is closed at the 18km point for a week or two more as they are doing bridge works. Lots of rain on the weekend but not water in the river yet, sadly!

23.01.2022 We are updating our website gradually... check out the video about Donnelly Family Stories on http://www.friendsofdonnelly.org.au/

23.01.2022 Friends of Donnelly Village Inc reps, Cindy Spight, Tony and Sally Paulin were very happy to celebrate our entry being Highly Commended in the Permanent Exhibition or Gallery Fitout under $20,000 at the AMaGA WA After Party for the Australian Museums and Galleries Association MAGNA Awards last night. Thanks MAGNA for recognising a huge amount of volunteer work in setting up the FODV Museum! Kudos to our volunteer curators, Cindy and Mike Spight. We forgot to take a photo! Th...anks to Sam Beard, Julie Lunn from Collections WA and the AMaGA WA organisation for their support. #FriendsofDonnellyVillage #DonnellyRiverVillage #volunteers #DonnellyMill #Bunnings We can highly recommend putting in entries for recognition of your group's work, it allows you to reflect on all the work your group has achieved and how well the displays/projects succeed in representing your host community. If you are thinking of putting together a nomination and would like some feedback/support get in touch with us and the #CollectionsWA folks.

19.01.2022 Spending some relaxing time at Donnelly and huge thanks to Carol Armstrong (nee Nichols) for doing her video oral history interview at No 6 yesterday. Anyone else want to have a go? Let us know!

18.01.2022 Thanks Collections WA for highlighting these memories of Jack which we put on the Collections WA website earlier this year. What a great smile from a big Donnelly River character!

13.01.2022 FODV were part of a trial by the WA Museum to set up a Collections WA site which would give online access to historical collections held across the state. We have only uploaded a few things so far as this was just a trial. The site was officially launched a couple of weeks ago and we wanted to share one very special item in our collection - the video vignette featuring John Tillman Snr, Grace O'Neil, Pat Reeve, Tim Larsen. see it here Part 1 Family. https://collectionswa.net.au/search

04.01.2022 We will be at Donnelly with video camera and tape recorder on hand from 25 July till 1 August. Get in touch if you would like to set up a time for us to come and interview you and capture your oral history story about life at the Donnelly. Call Sally on 0434350183. If you live closer to Perth, call us too so we can set up a date/time over the next couple of months.

01.01.2022 We are very proud to advise that FODV won a Commendation for their contribution as a community organisation in the 2020 WA Heritage Awards. This was a welcome recognition of all our work over the past few years and also the large amount of photos, stories and ephemera that our members and the Donnelly Community have shared with us over that time - Thank You! https://www.dplh.wa.gov.au//contribution-by-a-community-ba
