13.01.2022 Hi there, The Friends of Blackwood Forest are installing a swale footbridge to cross the creek in the middle of the actual pine forest area. This is one of the main paths in the forest and it's always been a problem getting across this waterlogged area. We have funding, a design, fabrication quote and approval from National Parks and Wildlife dept to proceed. A condition though is that it is installed by a licenced builder or a licenced builder oversees the volunteers installation. This is where you come in! If you are a licenced builder or you know one who is willing to work with us on this community project please get in contact with me through this post or through a PM. I've attached the bridge design (photos of pdf) and location. Thanks Glen Phillips
13.01.2022 The next stage on the rejuvenation of the manager's office is fixing the floor. 3 of our members were hard at it recently with sanders. A big thanks to Ben at Blackwood Hire for the donation of the equipment use!

06.01.2022 CALLING LOCAL PHOTOGRAPHERS We are am developing a new website for the Friends of Blackwood Forest group - and would like to ask if you would be interested in submitting photographs to be included. The forest is a popular spot for photoshoots (I know because my dog loves to photo bomb them), and I think this might be a useful addition to the new website. We would of course credit the photographer - and with committee approval may be able to include links to your website/portfolio.
