15.01.2022 Glenhaven Street Wardens In line with our Neighbourhood Watch program we are considering street wardens as a first point of contact for everything safety and security. Larger and longer streets would have multiple wardens.... Communication will more than likely be via a messaging app. If this is something you would like to be involved with please message the page with your name, street and mobile details.

11.01.2022 REMEMBER covid testing is FREE! Apparently, we need to prepare for these phone calls ...just in case keep our vulnerable safe Good morning, According to our ...system, you are likely to have been in close proximity to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. This means that you now need to self-isolate for 7 days and take a COVID-19 test. OK. Can you tell me who that person was? Im not able to tell you that. That is confidential information. Right. Um... so .... But you do need to be tested within the next 72 hours. So can I just get the best mailing address so that we can send a kit to you? Ok (gives address) Thank you - and I just need to take a payment card so that we can finalise this and send the kit to you. Sorry - a payment card? I thought this was all free? No - Im afraid not. There is a one-off fee of $50 for the kit and test results. Could you read off the long card number for me, please, when youre ready. No - thats not right. Im afraid it is. Can you give me the card number please - this is very important, and there are penalties for not complying. Puts the phone down. This is how scammers work. And vulnerable people will fall for it. Dont fall for it...! COPY and PASTE watch out ... Tell our elderly.

06.01.2022 We need EVERYONE in NSW to step up and work extra hard in reducing the spread of the virus. NSW is in a state of high alert and we especially need people in South-Western and Western Sydney to come forward and get tested.

05.01.2022 Residents across New South Wales are urged to monitor weather reports and health advice as the state is expected to experience heatwave conditions in the coming... days. The Bureau of Meteorology warns temperatures are generally expected to increase over the weekend. As the weather heats up, motorists are also reminded it’s not only an offence for children or pets to be left unattended in a vehicle, it can be deadly. Everyone needs to take care in hot weather, but some people are at higher risk of heat illness, especially if they are older, live alone or are socially-isolated. Remember to; Stay well-hydrated Avoid alcohol and hot or sugary drinks Limit your physical activity Try to stay out of the sun during the hottest part of the day Wear light, loose-fitting clothing made from natural fibres like cotton Regularly check your forecasts from the Bureau of Meteorology on radio, TV, internet or App Get advice from your doctor about whether your medication and/or your medical conditions may affect what you should do if it gets extremely hot Make sure you know who you are going to call (who may need help, and who could provide help to you if needed); make a list of telephone numbers and make sure they are current. If you can, it's a good idea to spend some time in an air-conditioned building. For more information please refer to the Beat the Heat website: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/environment/beattheheat Livestock and pet owners are also being urged to ensure adequate clean water is always available and that shading is provided where possible. Additionally, no animals should be left in confined, unventilated areas. Members of the public should also regularly visit the Rural Fire Service website at www.rfs.nsw.gov.au for updated bush fire warnings and information. For updated weather forecasts and warnings visit www.bom.gov.au.
