21.01.2022 A big thank you to all who attended our Community Tree Planting day here at the Lagoon Creek Environmental Reserve. It was great to meet you all and share in a Koala food tree planting exercise. What took me back was the fact that the kids who attended were so into it! We have some young wildlife warriors coming up in the next generation! This was all made possible by Moreton Bay Regional Council which Friends of Lagoon Creek are very thankful to. Check out the pics:

17.01.2022 Nature reserves provide essential habitat for local fauna and flora in areas close to urbanisation. These places provide refuge, homes and food for smaller more shy species of birds who have not and cannot adapt well to town living. Urban Places usually home to the Willy wag tail, Torresian crow, Magpie, Magpie lark, Crested pigeon and Rainbow lorikeet to name a few that most people are familiar with. You may get a more diverse range of bird species in your yard if you plant species that provide for their needs to warrant a visit :)
17.01.2022 I seriously cannot thank these extraordinary gentleman enough for their great contributions to the Folc group and over the covid-19 period. So much would not be possible without their skill and dedication to make a difference here. Thank you so much for all the amazing things you do and contribute to our group! It is a tremendous effort. So glad to have you as part of the team. You guys are awesome! I know there has been so much hidden support from the community through this... period also, locals who support our group, locals who regularly walk through and clean up lagoon creek and report illegal dumping, MBRC, Caboolture QCS our amazing Treasurer Fern and our mentor Glen Mclauchlan who also volunteer so much of their time towards supporting this group and its success. I cannot thank you all enough. It would not be the same without your time and care! See more

10.01.2022 Solitary bees species count as a heavy amount of our 1500 odd native bee species, QLD having a large amount of those species. Not what we are used to when it comes to European bee species and their hive like and honey making nature. They are great pollinators and drink the pollen directly from flowers. The blue banded bee when pollinating is equivalent to multiple worker honeybees!! Pic Blue banded - Erica Siegel https://yandinacommunitygardens.com.au//Australian-Solitar

07.01.2022 Lovers of many Citrus plant species. 05.01.2022 Very grateful for all the community support and the effort that was put into Clean up Australia Day today at our little patch of bushland!! It was a great effort and I would like to thank everyone that participated again. I did not get to take photos of all that turned up unfortunately as they were to busy scouring for litter in places others had not covered and some went to great lengths on the day. It was inspiring to meet so many driven and passionate individuals in one day.

02.01.2022 The amazing camouflage of Eastern sedge frogs or Eastern Dwarf treefrogs (Litoria fallax) perched on the Grey club rush in our nursery pond! Sedgefrogs calls are often reported in October to April the call is a ratchet-like re-ee-ek occasionally followed by staccato pips Native water plants such as sedges or strappy wetland plants especially tall species, provide a safe place for shelter, food and rest. Most of them have bio filtration capabilities and can keep surroundin...g water free of impurities. Introduced and noxious weeds such as water hyacinth and salvinia choke waterways by oxygen deprivation. Tadpoles mainly feed on decaying plant matter! http://www.qldfrogs.asn.au/frog-friendly-gardens/
