24.01.2022 The Year 1 Unit of Inquiry "Not a box" has the central idea of People design things for a purpose. As part of the provocation the children read the book Not a Box by Antoinette Portis (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nif94VQ4Xsc) and then redesigned boxes with their own ideas. To start the unit the children were given the following provocation - which of these items are machines? Why do you think its a machine? Can you give a definition of what a machine is? 19.01.2022 Open Morning- Tuesday 24th September This year we will be opening the school to parents, caregivers and the school community on the morning of Tuesday 24 September. This will replace the Open Night previously planned for the same evening. The change in time will allow all our teachers to attend the event within their working day. We would like to invite the school community to come and walk around our school, spend time in classrooms and look at students learning anytime b...etween 8.40am until 10.30am. The choir will be performing in the Music Suite from 8.50am and the Student Voice students will offer school tours leaving from the Front Office at 9.00am, 9.30am and 10.00am. There will be a coffee van on the Koonga Quad from 8.30am. We would like to thank-you in advance for attending our open morning and sharing in the learning across all year levels and subject areas. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 24 September from 8.40am.

10.01.2022 The Term 3 Fundraiser will be held next Friday on the 6th September. Were looking forward to getting all the students involved in this years Fun Run which will feature coloured powder, bubbles, music and an obstacle course! Year 6 and Year 7 Students - 9am - 9.30am Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 Students - 9.45am-10.15am Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 Students - 10.30am - 11am... Donation money is due on one day only Friday 13th September (Week 8). Remember to wear a white top if you want to be part of the coloured powder station!

Stradbroke now has a support group for parents to provide a forum for parents to share their knowledge, experience and challenges and provide support for each other. 01.01.2022 In 2019 there was a new Education Act passed in parliament. As a result DfE has developed and updated a number of policies to support the new legislation. One of these is the early dismissal from school. This means the new end of term dismissal time for Stradbroke School, for students, will be 2.10pm. This will also mean the canteen will now be open on the last day of term.
