19.01.2022 |Posture and tight muscles| A combination of Chiropractic adjustments, Soft tissue therapy and static stretching can help release the tight muscles associated with Distal crossed syndrome One such stretch is for the Psoas muscle, which starts in your low back, runs through your pelvis to attach near your hip, causing pain and tightness in the front of your hip/groin Kneel on the ground with one leg forward. Gently lean forwards from your pelvis making sure your back stays upright and straight. You should feel a gentle stretch in the kneeling leg hip/groin.

17.01.2022 |POSTURE| Posture and Proximal Crossed Syndrome are helped by improving mobility. As Chiro's, we do this by looking at both joints and muscles. We then provide great adjustments to specific areas of the spine to improve joint biomechanics, as well as offering stretches for at home to help relax specific tight muscles. Give theses stretches a try - you should feel a gentle pull and relief of tightness (and how clever is our Stretch Model, our chiro Alison!). 1. Upper trapezi...us muscle stretch sit on a chair, tilt your head away from the side you wish to stretch. Use a hand on top of your head to gently pull your head into this direction 2. Levator Scapula muscle stretch - sit in chair, tilt your head to the side and rotate your head towards your armpit, with one hand gentle pull your head forwards towards the opposite armpit. If you're ready for a chiro session or ready to address your postural issues, just give us a call or book online (link in the bio), we'd love to help!

10.01.2022 Chiropractic is a holistic approach to healthcare. We dont purely assess areas of pain but look for dysfunction throughout the body. You may have heard the term kinetic chain. This is the idea that our body works together as a whole, and movements are not individual but rather a chain of movement patterns spreading through multiple joints and areas. As a result, we want to assess multiple areas above and below where you are feeling pain or problems. #chiropractic #frisbeehealthandchiro #biomechanics #fulham

08.01.2022 |Proximal Crossed postural syndrome| Here's one to try at home: stand in front of a mirror and have a look at your posture. Is your head sitting forward further than your shoulders? Are your shoulders rounded forward? Is your mid back significantly rounded backwards? These are often signs of Proximal Crossed Syndrome. This is a postural complaint we see all the time at the clinic, and occurs as a result of some muscles becoming tight and some becoming weak. This muscle imbalance puts strain on the surrounding joints, bones, and ligaments and often triggers neck pain and stiffness, headaches and shoulder problems - just to name a few! The good news is there's lots we can do, so book in to see one of our Chiropractors to have your posture assessed

08.01.2022 A few months ago we provided some tips about correct desk posture while working from home. Now that we're starting to return to work these tips still apply, and proper desk ergonomics/posture can help minimise musculoskeletal pain. When at your work space, please remember: - Eyes should be looking straight ahead at your screen - Head position: ears inline with your shoulders while keeping the shoulders relaxed - Elbows bent at approximatly 90 degrees - Position hips sligh...tly above knees - Keep Lumbar spine supported - Feet flat on the floor or supported by a footrest Also remember to try and take a quick break every 30 minutes! Enjoy, and we'll see you for your chiro and massage session soon See more

08.01.2022 Following on from our previous post there are multiple ways as Chiropractors we can work with the spine, not all of them involve a crack. The above wedged shape blocks are called pelvic blocks. These blocks are placed under the patient at precise angles. This opens up the disc spaces in the lower spine and allows gravity to make a correction to the pelvis which can improved function and decrease pain. #frisbeechiro #chiropractic

08.01.2022 This clicky device is called an activator. It is a handheld device that delivers a fast but gentle force to a joint in order to restore normal motion. This is another gentle and effective way we can effect the biomechanics of the spine without producing a cavitation (crack). #chiropractic #frisbeechiro #fulham

08.01.2022 We carry a wide range of products and supplements including Metagenics and Biocueticals to support your immune system during the coming winter months.

06.01.2022 Complementary 15 minute Naturopath check ups. Thursday night 14th May Rebecca is offering 15 minute complimentary consults. Call the clinic to make a time and find out how you could benefit from Naturopathy.

06.01.2022 Another aim to help improve proximal crossed syndrome is to strengthen the weak muscles. One exercise that can help is called the Bruggers relief position. Sit at the edge of a chair with your legs slightly apart, rotate your arms and depress your shoulders. Gently lift up from your sternum (chest) while exhaling. Book in with our Chiropractors who can perform a postural assessment and provide individualised strengthening exercises.

05.01.2022 We are running a Posture and Ergonomics workshop today at the Hive....starting at 12.30pm and running for 45 minutes. To attend Call us on 8353 3434 to be a part of our first workshop !

04.01.2022 We had a Frisbee staff get-together recently, woo hoo! And look how many of us there are now We have Chiro, Massage, Acupuncture and Naturopathy on offer for you, by these delightful folk smiling below Gorgeous!

03.01.2022 |Distal Crossed Postural Syndrome| Like the proximal crossed syndrome, mentioned early this month, distal crossed syndrome is also as a result of muscle imbalance. This posture cause postural changes visible in the low back. Do you have an increase curve in your low back? Does your pelvis tilt forwards? This posture causes increased stress on the low back and lower extremity joints particularly the hips.
