22.01.2022 For anyone interested or the least bit curious about becoming a firefighter we will have staff available at the Yenda fire station tonight (wed 13th). We will be able to answer any queries you may have and show you what’s involved. Feel free to pop in anytime between 7:30pm-9:30pm.

22.01.2022 It’s been just over a year since our first deployment in the 19/20 Bushfires. What a difference a year makes . This time last year over 100 fires were burning around the state with some at critical level. Thankfully this year sees much milder conditions. During the last Bushfire period Yenda Firefighters were deployed right over the state for life, property and asset protection. We travelled from Woodenbong at the Qld border right down to Eden at the Victorian border. ... Most of these calls came in with less than 24hrs notice to leave. We spent a lot of time away from families and for some even missed Christmas . If the call come again and we were needed we would do it all over again though. #protecttheirreplaceable #preparedforanything Below is RFF Adam Harman who was the first at Yenda to deploy in 2019 and was one of the last to deploy in 2020.

21.01.2022 3 of our team undertook some vital skills maintained each training over the weekend at the Deniliquin training facility.

21.01.2022 Today we remember those who have served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations and the contribution and suffering of all those who have served. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.

21.01.2022 It's starting to feel like Christmas The boys were hard at work today hanging a few strings of Christmas lights, to give a little bit of sparkle to our station ... call past and have a look. Hanging between the trees are COVID friendly candy canes ... feel free to grab one.... #lightupyenda #christmaslights #christmas2020

20.01.2022 We will remember them Lest we forgot

12.01.2022 Today Yenda firefighters completed their annual ‘fire-fit’ drill. This is an annual drill all Fire and Rescue firefighters complete to ensure we are actively and physically ready for whatever is thrown at us. There is a total of 7 different activities designed around the tasks firefighters can complete on the fireground. This is a personal challenge test, there is no set limits to complete the activities. However being the competitive souls we are at Yenda there is ...always a bit of friendly banter and competition. #preparedforanything Fire and Rescue NSW

10.01.2022 Today we remembered them. Lest we forget.

10.01.2022 You never stop learning. Tonight Yenda firefighters practiced honing their Rescue skills with a dummy patient extraction drill Motor Vehicle rescues and patient extraction are one of the many skills we need to ensure we practice to keep up with the current technology and techniques. Tonight’s drill was based on a real life scenario where the driver was trapped and had suspected neck injury. A double door peel was completed to allow us full access to the patient an...d a safe extraction without causing further injuries. Many thanks to RW3 Superintendent Mike VanDenBout for coming out to Yenda tonight as well. 08.01.2022 This graphic demonstrates why it’s so important to get down low in the cases of fire . Not only will the smoke be less dense lower down but there is a dramatic change in temperature increasing the chances of survival.

08.01.2022 Your swimming pool could have a bigger purpose this summer! With bushfire season commencing, we urge any residents that have a pool, water tank or dam to sign up to our Static Water Supply (SWS) program. By displaying this free sign on your letterbox, firefighters can identify where there is an emergency water supply available to protect your home and possessions. We now have these stickers available from the Yenda Fire Station. If you would like one please flick us through a... message and we will arrange to have one dropped off. Otherwise if you see us at the station feel free to drop in and pick one up. #PreparedForAnything #MoreThanFire #ProtectTheIrreplaceable
