25.01.2022 Sharing this to my page. A little message from a beautiful client of mine. Hope you enjoy the read.
24.01.2022 This is a fantastic video that shows you exactly what happens to the body when there is a genetic malformation in the body.
23.01.2022 This video is the result of one craniosacral session and a few weeks in the paddock allowing the pony to release the tension in the traumatise tissue and for the tissue to repair itself back into a balanced state. I was over whelmed by the result and my pony is not only so much happier but is able to breath normally again and all without any invasive treatments. We no longer hear her coming up the paddock sounding like a steam train and the weight she has gained is also incredible. Take a look at the after video to see the result so far for this little mare.
22.01.2022 Spreading the craniosacral vibe today. First time in the heart of NSW.
21.01.2022 Coming to Dubbo Limited appointments get in quick.
21.01.2022 This is a great read. Even if you don’t know anatomical terms you should be able to visualise what the writer is talking about and just how important it is to consider the feet in the wellbeing of your horse
21.01.2022 Don’t forget to remember our equines who fought along side our solders and medicos

18.01.2022 That's the size of a horses heart next to a human heart
18.01.2022 This is an interesting read. Time to think about where the behaviour problem actually comes from Usually from pain somewhere in the body and not just a horse with a scatty brain or as most people would say they are highly strung. Then why? This article also states that the use of calmers increases this anxious behaviour as the sedated horse (which is the effect of the calmer) inhibits their ability to feel their body in the spaces around them. Craniosacral therapy can help these anxious horses by relieving deep tissue pain that the ordinary therapist cannot see or feel. Maybe it is time to give it a go for your horses well-being and also for your own safety. Appointments available now.
16.01.2022 The post below is quite long but a very good read for those that are interested to know how craniosacral work came to be and the benefits for living things.
16.01.2022 Spring is now here and looking at my banner on the fence need to do some more mowing out front. This is the perfect time to give your horse a craniosacral treatment before you get back into that training and hard work.
16.01.2022 You often here about horses who are roarers. The treatment used to help these horses breath correctly again is usually an operation to tie back the epiglottis. What if there was another less invasive form of treatment? Well there is just take a look at the before and after videos of a pony of mine that came to me with this condition and after a craniosacral session and a few weeks for her body to repair the damage itself she can now breath normally just like the others in the paddock. During this first video you can see the pony releasing the pressures in her head and becomes more relaxed as this happens
16.01.2022 Want your horse to be a responsive and trainable as this beautiful horse. Craniosacral therapy can help you get there. Phone me for an appointment 0427452101.
15.01.2022 I could not have explained this better myself Don’t forget craniosacral therapy can help your horse to release the tissues around the hyoid which will then enable the horse rebalance
11.01.2022 Video of pony a few weeks after her craniosacral session- what a difference it has made. Don’t take my word for it just have a look at the after video and you can see/hear for yourself.
11.01.2022 Rules for dating/marrying an equestrian: 1) They WILL have layers of clothes and muddy boots....either provide a place for them to drop these things or don't wh...ine about the mess. 2) Expensive tack is still cheaper than the horse and human medical bills that can result from cheap tack. Good tack also lasts longer than the horse. Don't question the tack. 3) One horse is never enough. Don't even question this. It is a law of the universe. 4) Caring for the horse is ALWAYS more expensive than the horse. Whining about the purchase price is pointless. 5) When they say, "I'm just going to stop out at the barn for a few minutes." you should probably just make plans on your own the rest of the day. 6) That not-a-morning-person that you are used to will completely disappear on the mornings a trailer must be hooked up for a horse-related event. They will be replaced by a bright-eyed super-intense type-A psycho who will NOT care that you need 5 more minutes for your coffee because they need to be at the barn at 5:45 am PRECISELY. 7) Vet bills for horses start at 4-digits and go up from there. If it's less than $1000, pay it quickly and run out of the vet's office before the horse suddenly develops another problem. 8 ) No matter how badly your significant other is injured, you should NEVER blame the horse. In fact, don't mention the injury or the horse if you can avoid it. Suggesting they should avoid riding until they are healed will probably get you a crutch upside the head. 9) If you don't know what to get for a holiday or birthday, a gift card to the feed store is ALWAYS a good option. If you have messed up somehow, this is an excellent way to get out of the dog house. The value should reflect how much trouble you are in. A bouquet of feed store gift cards is generally sufficient to cover very bad mistakes, such as burning down the house or crashing the truck. 10) Your equestrian will be fine if you have your own hobbies and interests. In fact, you had better get your own hobbies and interests. If you want to spend significant time with your equestrian, you need to develop a useful skill.....such as driving a tractor, shoveling, operating a video camera, leatherwork of any sort, or becoming a veterinarian. 11) Trucks are not optional. Yes, the truck and trailer rig will likely be at least half the cost of your house. Arguing about this is unwise, your equestrian will happily LIVE in the truck and trailer and suggest selling the house. 12) Horse craziness is hereditary, generally passed down the maternal lines, but can be present on the males side as well. Prepare for this when planning children. 13) If you need your equestrian to spend more time at home, we suggest building a barn on your property. 14) Dates should be planned in a different county from where the horse is located. If the equestrian gets within 50 miles of the horse, they will need to stop by. You will be stuck there, see point number 5 above. 15) Never make it a competition between you and the horse. New significant others generally cost less money and are faster to train than a new horse. Just saying.
08.01.2022 Quality movement and temperament to boot.
08.01.2022 Good comparison
07.01.2022 Very good video that shows the hoof structures and where the nail goes into the hood structure when shoes are put on
07.01.2022 Thank you johno for this fantastic feed back after not only your session but guapo and sue Ellen’s as well.
06.01.2022 Addition to our services venture due to covide 19 We can offer a comprehensive package of therapy, training and full time care. Maybe you have a horse that you just cannot work out what is going wrong, just cannot get that lead or maybe anxiety just overrides it’s thinking amongst other issues that seem to make your horse untrainable . Now is the time to give us a call to help your horse on its way to be the best that he/she can be.
05.01.2022 This post below is so true and this is what I see a lot when called in to treat a horse that has all of the issues discussed below on the article. With craniosacral therapy treatments to release all of the muscles and nerves that have been compromised from poor saddle fit and of course a better fitting saddle the horse can be free of pain, maximise movement and diminish any bad behaviour that is caused from the ill fitting or incorrectly placed saddle. All it takes is a little time, please give me a call if you would like to try craniosacral therapy on your horse and give it back a pain free existence. Your horse will live you forever and you will get better performance from him/her
05.01.2022 Have had the most spectacular time here At José Mendez Equestrian for the past 3 days. Treating both horses and people. Got to work with the most amazing stallion today ‘Stratford Mantorani’ now 24yrs of age but still looking as gorgeous as he was when he competed in the London Para Olympics. Just love it when I can give something back to such an amazing and talented equine #craniosacraltherapy#equinetherapy#naturalequinetherapies
05.01.2022 A recent trip to the Southern Highlands with Sue Ellen Lovett, allowed me to watch Johno in work with the Master Jose Mendez before he had another cranioscral therapy session whilst he is being schooled. This time Sue was able to capture one of Johnos' releases during this session, for those to see what happens during a craniosacral session. This video is only a snap shot of the releases that Johno had during this recent session. At this point of the treatment i was helping... him to release the tension within his thoracic sling. This sling is made up of many muscles that are covered in a layer of fascia (which looks like spider web) that connects the front of the all the way up into the pelvis. when this has restrictions within the horse the front ends range of motion becomes limited, once released the trampoline effect and floaty movement occur as a result of this area functioning properly. It will also allow the hind end to follow through with the same floating movements that will impress the toughest of judges/critics. There are also so many other changes that happen within the body, legs will position themselves under the shoulders and hips that allow the horse to rebalance itself, increasing performance and enhancing overall health. 04.01.2022 Head shaker making fantastic progress after just one craniosacral session. Before videos in comments So I hear/see this quite a lot Is there anything you can do for a horse that is a head shaker?... I can now honestly say and show you that there is something that can be done for this condition. After providing just one session of craniosacral therapy to Badger a Clydie X, I can show you the results of my treatment. Below is two videos of Badger before his treatment one in just his head stall and the second is in his work bridle to show that it did not matter what was placed on him he still had the vertical and sideways movements of his head for no reason at all. ( he actually did this just in the paddock without anything on him). To begin with you would blame the flies but the day I visited there were no flies and became very apparent that it was indeed something neurological. The third video is of Badger three weeks after his craniosacral session being ridden by a young rider and you can see a massive improvement in his head shaking. In fact there is hardly any shaking at all and a much more relaxed and contented horse willing to do what has been asked of him. So if anyone asks you what can be done for a horse that is a head shaker please let them know that there is a therapy out there that can provide relief for this condition See more
03.01.2022 THE OUTLINE - TRAIN YOUR EYE Whichever discipline you practice, you're aiming to achieve balance through strength and lift. But how do we achieve this and what ...does it look like? This diagram created by Naomi Tavian, perfectly illustrates extension and flexion. Study this diagram and look at your own photos, train your eye to see the forces acting on the horse's body. One thing I notice is that in the diagram, there is no bridle. This is because technically speaking you don't need any bit or bitless bridle to achieve it. Lift does not come from the head, just as it also doesn't come from the hind. Lift of the thorax is achieved purely through the thoracic sling, which is made up of pectoral muscles and the Serratus ventralis cervical & thoarcis muscles. The croup will naturally tuck under to support the lift (balance), creating the perfect 'outline'. As the horse becomes stronger, they will raise the poll to be the highest point to full collection (not shown in diagram). How we strengthen these thoracic muscles correctly comes from a combination of exercises including extension and stretching (both on the ground first and then ridden). Just pulling on the reins and driving with the leg is not the way forward (pun intended). Training for strength and flexibility doesn't come from endless trotted circles, it comes from a proper plan, understanding of the horse and good management to ensure a horse is in the right place to start such a journey. #horsetraining #equineanatomy #dressage
