24.01.2022 AC OPERATION Just a reminder to everyone, even though the weather is cooling down, ensure you operate the AC in your car at least once or twice a week. The AC refrigerant has oil mixed in it to lubricate the AC system. By not using the AC for long periods can dry out seals etc and this can result in the Refrigerant leaking.... To avoid costly repairs, operate your car AC as much as possible.

18.01.2022 Function of a AC Receiver/Drier (Filter) The Receiver Driers function in an automotive a/c system is to filter foreign material, remove moisture from the refrigerant and to act as a reservoir to supply liquid refrigerant to the TX valve. Generally, a receiver drier gives little or no problems but over time if they corrode and rust it can contaminate the a/c system
13.01.2022 ANOTHER REASON TO SERVICE YOUR AC SYSTEM Another problem to watch for is when the desiccant material breaks down over time, resulting in major problems such as a blocked TX valves which in turn can seize a compressor. Thats why you should replace the receiver drier (Filter) every 2 or 3 years, which is done as part of the AC Service.

02.01.2022 HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU REPLACE THE AC FILTER DRIER It is a cardinal principle to replace the receiver drier or dessicant bag whenever a system is serviced or opened to the atmosphere during repairs - as per the Australian Code of Practice. All filter driers should be replaced every 2 - 3 years or by manufacturers recommendation.
