22.01.2022 When you think about the importance of Lighthouses and aid to navigation the provide, it’s amazing when you think about how the light is gathered, controlled and collimated into a beam that can reach 40-50kms out to sea. The heart of any Lighthouse is the Light source itself. This electric lamp is being replace by a smaller counterpart of equal specifications... This lamp is rated at 1000W at 120V.

06.01.2022 Advancing Technology As a designer of lamps, and an appreciation for the technology in lighting advancements in particular to the Light Emitting Diode (LED). The #history of the #led has roots as far back as 1907 but was not until around 1962 when the first true LED was demonstrated by General Electric.... The advancements in LED had come a very long way and finding applications as a viable light source to replace the humble #incandescent #filament. Most recently, #lighthouses are starting to be upgraded to LED sources, at the forefront is @sealiteaton whom produce a range of LED for #aidstonavigation. 05.01.2022 We closed out 2017 with the completion of one of our biggest projects, the restoration of an circa late 1800s early 1900s Enterprise Manufacturing Co No. 750 grinder. This grinder was found back in early 2017 while driving by #wombatinthirroul. A great deal of time and attention has been spent during restoration from initial sandblasting and application of a protective coat, application of the final colour and hand... Painting the crimson red of each individual letters. A beautiful new handle was turned from PNG Rosewood, and sealed with Scandinavian oil. A beautiful piece of recycled ironbark timber was sourced for the base, fully hand sanded, stained and sealed before final fixing to the grinder base via 4 solid brass counter-sunk Slot-Head screws and nuts. Finally, our custom made boiler plate certification plaque by #littleanvil is set onto the piece completing this project. The grinder is now available for viewing at #sibonis coffee in Pymble. Expressions of interest are being accepted for this rare and unique pieces of history.

03.01.2022 Restoration process of this rare small industrial dome lamp. Brushing back the metal components, revealing an interesting patina which tells a story. The underside revealing a warm character of the original white enamel dotted with rust-tic colouration.... Deciding to maintain the history and the character of the piece, following cleaning, an application of clear protective top coat. Hand made set of seals and rubberised cork gasket to finish the seals, and finally replacing the older cracked glass with a replacement glass dome which I appear to have collected a couple over time.

02.01.2022 Following a busy 2017 with various project and orders, we have most recently completed our latest builds of four beautiful bespoke trouble light pendants for our clients at #siboniscoffee. We enlisted the creative talent of Charlie Hillen (IG: @charliewoodturner) to turn up some raw sample handles from spotted gum and Jarrah. We completed the handles with a final sand and sealing with Scandinavian Oil and Wax.... For the production series of pendants, we selected Jarrah to match the tones in the cafe. The next task was ordering the lamp components and cages from #EdisonLightGlobes and then commencing work on the cage's rustic patina. In developing the Patina, we gained some interesting thoughts on developing our own style. We finally assembled all four lamps and completed full electrical safety testing prior to delivery.
