20.01.2022 DONATIONS - WOOROLOO FIRE We have been incredibly humbled by the number of people wishing to help emergency services personnel and members of the community ...impacted by the Wooroloo bushfire. These generous offers of time and donations show how truly compassionate Western Australians are. Department of Communities has set up three evacuation centres for people displaced by the fire. The evacuees are being provided with everything they need in the short term such as food, clothes and toys. We are asking the community to please hold on to your donations at this time as we do not have capacity to process everything during this ongoing emergency. The most helpful thing you can do is continue to follow warnings, obey road closures and allow emergency services personnel to continue their great work. The Lord Mayor's Distress Relief Fund is now active for the Wooroloo Bushfire. You can make donations here: https://appealswa.org.au/current-appeals/ DFES Incident Photographer Evan Collis

20.01.2022 As the sun sets on the fourth day of our battle against the Wooroloo bushfire, more than 300 firefighters from across WA remain on the ground working tirelessly... to protect lives and homes. Their hard work, and the work of support personnel behind the scenes, has helped to save over 200 properties which were in the line of fire. This bushfire has now burnt over 10,000 hectares and has a 126 kilometre perimeter. With firefighters facing extremely difficult terrain and intense, unpredictable conditions, the role of aerial support has been invaluable in our efforts against the blaze. Another Large Air Tanker from NSW became operational late this afternoon, joining two others to drop retardant in at-risk areas to try to contain the fire. To those who have lost their homes, we understand that this is an extremely difficult and emotional time. Please know that your loss is felt strongly by our entire emergency services family and we know the WA community is with you as well. This fight is unfortunately far from over. We still face a dangerous few days ahead of us and we are once again asking the community to remain vigilant, follow the advice in our warnings on www.emergency.wa.gov.au and not become complacent. We understand you may be feeling frustration and stress, but please be assured that hundreds of personnel are working tirelessly around the clock to bring this bushfire under control. Career Firefighter Mick Dybac captured this powerful moment of fellow Daglish Senior Firefighter David Ellis, in front of a home they had just saved in the Wooroloo bushfire.

19.01.2022 Hopefully this will happen. The benefit's to all emergency services within DFES will be immense
