24.01.2022 Mr 2 has been showing an interest in broadening his knowledge of colours from "green" recently. Today he pulled out our Fruitful Feelings deck and started asking me what colour the cards were so we created a little game. I placed one of each fruit face up in front of him and asked him to show me a card that is green, blue and so on. We then did the same thing but this time I asked him to show me an apple, blueberry etc. Mr 5 then wanted to join in so I placed his cards face d...own and turned it into a memory game/snap for him. I also read the affirmations on the cards as we went through them. A fun and unexpected opportunity to get us talking about colours and emotions, a wonderful support as we return to our childcare, kinder, work routine. 24.01.2022 The Throat Chakra is represented by the colour blue. When balanced, it helps you to communicate openly and honestly, enabling you to express your true self creatively and clearly. If your throat chakra is blocked, you may notice your voice is croaky, have a scratchy throat or neck pain. You may have difficulty finding the words to say how you feel, or when you do speak up for yourself you are often misunderstood. The source of this imbalance may also be connected to one or mo...re of your lower chakras. One way you can support your throat chakra is to eat foods that are naturally blue. Blueberries (the fruit I chose to represent the throat chakra in my cards) are coming into season now here in Australia and are an excellent choice!

21.01.2022 There's nothing quite like the blue of the ocean to help calm and wash away worries. If you ask my older son, there's also nothing like hands in the sand digging giant trenches. Connecting with the Earth, as kids naturally do, balances their base chakras, helping them to feel connected, safe and centred. ... I find it fascinating to watch my boys connect with nature in their own way. While one could dig trenches all day, the other loves to splash in the water and smash sandcastles. Feeling scattered and not quite yourself? The ocean is ready to work it's magic on you too!

17.01.2022 Getting ready for my first ever market on Sunday at the Heatherdale Preschool Boutique Market. Any tips for me on must haves for the day? My son thinks maybe a jackhammer would be helpful. 06.01.2022 Our kids learn so much from us, whether we are intentional with what we're teaching or not. Today we were playing out the front of our house and a bee walked right between us. My older son was stung by a bee last week so I wasn't sure how he would respond seeing another one. We had talked about how it hurt and that the bee didn't want to hurt him, it was protecting itself. When our new friend walked up to us, it reminded him of what happened last week and although he kept ...his distance, he was calm. Because of this, my younger son had a lovely time saying hello (he told us to "be careful of the cute bee") and asked it if it wanted a drink of water. Apparently it did so we went and got a dish, it had a little drink and kept on walking. It is my dream that Fruitful Feelings will help families to have moments like this where it's ok to talk about how you feel and learn ways to help you to feel nurtured, calm and confident together.
