05.01.2022 Thank you to Dr Dharminy Thurairatnam, a Junior Doctor at Lyell McEwin Hospital (LMH), for her quick thinking actions that identified the Parafield Cluster. A ...cough alerted Dr Thurairatnam to do a respiratory swab that was essential in picking up the first case as part of the cluster. If the swab wasn't taken at LMH, there would have been widespread community transmission. Dr Thurairatnam told The Advertiser: "I think every frontline worker is a hero during the pandemic." If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, even if mild, get tested as soon as possible.
