25.01.2022 Buuuuunnnnnnssssss Sunday sessions... all the buns.... 6-2 today. Yeowwwww

23.01.2022 DREAMS... this month marked our 5 year anniversary at currumbin, our 1 year anniversary at cabarita, it also marked the biggest step to date for us as a business. What started as a little pie shop on the side of the road in Currumbin industrial area has become a rather crazy operation. For those that remember our plans this year was to build a big bakery with all the fruit to continue the growth of currumbin and supply of our wholesale partners. We can announce we have taken ...possession of the fish and chip shop next door and the de-fit and re-fit has begun. This is truly a dream realised for me, a bakery I’ve seen so many times in my mind, and it’s time to build it! For those that want to know, we will be knocking down walls and opening up the whole building, our current shop will be our new climate controlled pastry room with glass FOH for viewing, then next door will be Cabarita style set-up, everything we currently do but twice as big, coffee, hot display, cold display and a pastry cabinet to fall in love with It’s going to be all time! I wish to share the journey with all our friends, followers and supporters so I’ll post as much as I can. I also want to say thank you to every single person that has walked through those doors in the last 5 years and every single staff member that has helped me on this journey, this ones for you. Our vision is to create a bakery that brings the community together, a hub for meeting, and a place people feel at home. Also a massive shout out to @luke_n_ghost for coming on board as my business partner and sharing the load of what Fuel is today, and also my amazing wifey @kate_arina_willmann and my kids for allowing me the space, patience and love to do what I do everyday. A few fun facts for those playing along at home, we now supply over 50 other cafes from Hope Island to Cabarita, hand making over half a ton of butter pastry and over 2500 sausage rolls per week with a crew of 20 and an epic wages bill . 02.01.2022 MISTAKES :::: we all make em! Proof today no matter how many you do, how much experience you have, how much time you dedicate sometimes things just don’t go to plan. Baking is so fickle, one wrong button, one wrong timer or tray in the wrong spot, one lapse of judgement can be your undoing. Today was a tough day in the kitchen, but it’s all a learning experience. Patience and compassion is a wonderful thing, everyone makes mistakes, thats the challenge we love, having patience for all people in all aspects is the true recipe. Even the best still screw up! Today was my day . Tomorrow we will be better because of it. Proud all our wholesalers still got most of their orders fulfilled with quality.
