19.01.2022 JUNE NEWSLETTER - I know we haven't had a newsletter for the last couple of months, but Im sure you are all aware, there has been nothing happening at the Guild and it has been closed. * following a discussion by our Committee it was agreed a new brochure be created. Annie Clough (Publicity Officer) with the assistance of Brenda McColl (photographer and general assistant) are in the process currently, using photos taken recently of items in the Gallery. * A reminder t...hat membership is now due. * Thanks to the Shutterbug members of the Guild, , a new hanging system is underway. This system creates the illusion the paintings etc are magically just hanging there. No chains etc visible A big thank you to those ladies. * It was agreed at the last meeting held on 12th June we should look to holding our annual Spring Exhibition The dates decided on are 13/14/15th November So keeping our fingers crossed Covid-19 doesn't interfere with these dates, we should all start thinking and making new items to be put on display for sale. Bright and spring-like is the idea. * a Grant application has been lodged with Community Building Partnership. so the rainwater tank behind the pottery rooms be moved over to a new position behind the kitchen, plus drainage and other works involved * The Grant from Stronger Community Round 5 has been acquitted with the new flooring laid in meeting room * An application has been lodged with Joblink for a part time assistant to man the Galley, so it can be kept open every day. Currently this is in the hands of Joblink, waiting for a decision. * And speaking of keeping the Gallery open every day, if you can spare a day or a couple of hours, could you contact Judy Sautchuk or Karen Thurston to place your name on the roster. Thursday, Saturday and Sunday are the days the gallery is currently not open You don't necessarily have to be there on your own, bring a friend for a chat, or bring your craft to catch a few extra hours working it. We look forward to hearing from you. * Next meeting 14th August, 2020 at 10am Stay safe everyone, don't forget your social distancing and keep your fingers crossed life can start to become normal again.

We have cancelled Warm and Woolley Exhibition and the Beanie Competition planned for July. We hope we may be able to revive the plans in time for the Spring Exhibition,, but this is of course subject to any further restrictions on retail activities and social distancing. ... I will post any further information regarding the Guild and activities as they become available. Keep safe everyone. Cheers Annie Publicity Officer
