16.01.2022 I love this analogy! I just had to share You are holding a cup of coffee when someone comes along and bumps into you or shakes your arm, making you spill your coffee everywhere. Why did you spill the coffee? ... "Because someone bumped into me!!!" Wrong answer. You spilled the coffee because there was coffee in your cup. Had there been tea in the cup, you would have spilled tea. *Whatever is inside the cup is what will spill out.* Therefore, when life comes along and shakes you (which WILL happen), whatever is inside you will come out. It's easy to fake it, until you get rattled. *So we have to ask ourselves... what's in my cup?"* When life gets tough, what spills over? Joy, gratefulness, peace and humility? Anger, bitterness, harsh words and reactions? Life provides the cup, YOU choose how to fill it. Today let's work towards filling our cups with gratitude, forgiveness, joy, words of affirmation; and kindness, gentleness and love for others. 16.01.2022 I this! Don't wait for someone else What you do with an empty toilet paper roll surprisingly says a lot about YOU. I was around 18 when someone said this to me and it's always stuck with me........ There are people in this life and some of them will never be willing to go out of their way to fix a problem, to help, or to lend a hand- even when they've contributed to that problem. They just wait for the next person to come along and take care of things. Then, there are people in this life who see a problem and they step in- even if they didn't have a part in causing it- and those people lend a hand to help. They don't wait for someone else to come along and fix it, they ARE the person that does. For the last 8 years, the analogy of the empty toilet paper roll has really stuck with me... because the simple act of putting a new roll on the holder is more symbolic than you might think. Do you put a new roll on, or do you wait for the next person to after you've used the last of it? It's how we handle the smallest things in life, that usually reflect on how we handle the biggest.
