Perfect for a modern rustic serving board or home decore display piece Slabs range from 500 to 600mm in length, 250 to 300mm width & 40 to 50mm thick.... Each slab will be finished to your requirements and knots or holes filed with epoxy resin. 21.01.2022 The Redgum serving plank is finished This Redgum biscuit was cut from a tree that spent approx 100 years living in the flinders ranges region of South Australia. Together with the help of Byron from Whyalla Wood Slabs - Byron Smith we cut this slice or "biscuit" to achieve a unique shape and texture of bark grain and ovalized heart wood.... Once I got the slab into my workshop I proceeded to prepare for a semi-translucent black epoxy resin to stabilise the splits and knots. Many hours of meticulous debarking & sanding followed to get it to a smooth product ready for coating with @osmo_australia 1101 hardwax oil. A final polish produced the lustrous satin finish.
