09.01.2022 National standards provide rules and regulations for manufacturing, electrical systems, construction, plumbing and more. These national standards are owned by a private company and they charge high amounts of money for these standards. They should be publicly available - or we risk dodgy jobs because businesses won't want to use the latest versions or won't use them at all to save on costs.... This is why we have skyscrapers with structural integrity issues, and homes with dodgy electrical systems. Our party will make national standards publicly and freely available for anyone to learn from. Students need these standards to learn their trade - they shouldn't be hidden behind a paywall. This is about people's lives.
