21.01.2022 Always Was, Always Will Be. Through respectful explicit teaching and play based learning our Kindy's have been exploring the meaning of NAIDOC week and talking about their Country, Language groups and Identity. To celebrate NAIDOC week. This year our Kindilink, Kindy and Pre-Primary students collaborated in partnership with Baya Gawiy Buga Yani Jandu Yani U.... Activities were meaningfully focused on children aged 6 months to 5 years. Some experiences included collaborative perspex mural painting, felt stories about local animals and plants, stenciling, posca pen bag designing and clay creations. We shared a feed of Kangaroo and Ox tail stews, Tuna mornay, fresh salads and damper cooked on the fire. And listened to the talented Bullen Rogers sing and play his guitar. Special thanks to Dee Carter and the AIEO staff here at FVDHS for building connections between our school and the Baya Gawiy Early Learning Centre.
