21.01.2022 Shots for Kobe - Legends never die, RIP
10.01.2022 Part 1: Fitness methods It's rare that I give any sort of on in depth opinion on this platform beyond In response to my story, I love the feed back and the honesty. I wanted to open up this topic due to the nature of expectations surrounding it. Both methods hold pros and cons, I'd like to discuss and hopefully articulate my point in a way that will encourage feedback. I'd also love to get a better insight on the psychology of people around me and their takes on fitness.... The answers I got aligned with my general theory on the methods we take to achieve our goals. What I found interesting is that the majority of people that currently take a more laid back approach to fitness, desired the stricter approach as an ideal. I believe the reason for this, is that most on this platform preach a perfect state of being. Something that can be achieved with only this method. Many of my friends that I've met through working in the industry and competing take this approach. Which 100% will give you the best chance of achieving your goal in the shortest amount of time. If this is your approach to fitness, I think good, more power to you. If you have the discipline to make it happen no matter what, you will succeed. My concern is for the rest of the population that desire this, but are not willing to put in countless hours of hard work into training, organizing diet and generally prioritizing this lifestyle. I fall somewhere between these two methods (as they are generally the two extremes I've seen people utilize) I often find myself: a. Not getting enough sleep. b. Not always eating appropriately for my goals. c. Not meeting my requirements for total training volume or intensity in any given week. My own inadequacies aside. Here are some things I can say with absolute certainty. - fitness, like many things, is a tool. You can use it to improve your life or control it. - you can still achieve your goals with an easier method, just know it will take longer. It's a matter of how important it is to you, and what you are willing to sacrifice. Part 2 continues to the next post >

07.01.2022 Part 2: Fitness methods You can organize yourself in a way that you are pushed optimally, while given the best chance to succeed. This might mean cutting unnecessary parts of your life out, certain activities or hobbies even people. (There is an intermediate route) - It is important to be disciplined and have internal control, but ultimately 99% of people fall victim to external circumstances/ motivation. This is diet btw. (also 76.3% of statistics are made up)... - Be honest with yourself, do you desire the more difficult route because you feel inadequate in your current state, love to push yourself out of comfort zones. Or maybe it's because it was what your are told to want. - Whatever your method, If you aren't enjoying the journey maybe the goal isn't worth it. (beyond general health) Diets and routines are treated like temporary things with predetermined end points, this is wrong. You should be capable of maneuvering different methods of exercise and diet to optimise your lifestyle. I feel the general population doesn't truly want what is preached as ideal, it's a fantasy that will never disappoint them. Most people really just want to feel good about themselves. Be that through, improving in a sport, participating in a group activity, losing weight, etc. Unfortunately they are forced into a belief that they require an absurd amount of knowledge and tools to even try. Which ultimately just backfires and demotivates them, making them feel they are excluded from some sort of club. My take is, you should prioritize your health and fitness, but only in a way that works for you. Discovering that is part of the journey. That's my 2 cents, maybe I'm full of shit. If you've read this far, and maybe you don't know me that well. Please feel free to open discussion with me in private message. I'd love to continue the discussion, alternative opinions are preferable and if anything I'll respect you more if you can help me see new light on this topic, I respect both sides of these extremes and would love to further my insight
