20.01.2022 Gab group is back in full swing for the 2020 year. The boys undertook a fun little job to round off the first full week back having to remove a palm from the centre island at the duck pond in the botanical gardens. The bank had given way underneath the palm causing it to fall into the water which made for some very unorthodox techniques. They worked from a small boat before having to get in the water to crane the rest from the pond with the watchful eyes of the residents. The guys at gab group are here to accomodate ALL forms of tree work whether it be above or below.
18.01.2022 Windy Warrnambool Strikes again!! Due to recent weather we’ve had in the south west we have attended a number of tricky jobs, like this large pine which came down over this historic cottage. With the soggy ground the boys had to climb and piece down what they could then lifted the rest off with the crane. Preventing further damage in the process. While we were there the client requested a much needed tidy up of the surrounding trees.... Although this tree was visually sound it managed to come down in the strong winds. 17.01.2022 Over the past couple of months (when the weather would allow us) we have been working with the wonderful property owners of the large heritage listed homestead on the hill at Terang. All the old mature trees were in pretty bad shape with many faults and failures throughout, we worked our way around the property cleaning up the trees one by one. With the great weather gap just been we manage to complete this year’s preservation cycle and can’t wait for spring to see all the ...trees in there full glory, and then go again next year. 15.01.2022 Happy Easter everyone! Post long weekend we tackled a few rather large hazardous pines on the side of the Hopkins river. These trees were posing a large risk, catching wind from all directions and dropping limbs through the customers yard. We teamed up with another great local business (Rogers construction) to which they brought there 30t excavator and a gun little operator, she had the site cleaned up quicker then we could get the trees on the ground. Great to work along s...ide other businesses in this crazy time. 2 days in and we had completed the job. We are still operating to hazardous or priority jobs. 12.01.2022 Having a flood water issue, we are here to help! The Gab Group team are on hand to help you out using our Vacuum Truck, which can be used to suck liquids, slurry and sludge from a location into its tank. This allows the liquid to be transported to another location. Vacuum trucks are fitted with high-pressure hoses and suction tubes, meaning they are capable of undertaking non-destructive excavation and vacuum clean up. Vac trucks are also used to empty tanks or bodies of liq...uid. This can include sewerage or septic tanks, water tanks and flooded areas. 11.01.2022 This week, amongst all the craziness we tackled a MASSIVE manna gum out at Laang. This very large tree started to pose a significant risk to the home owners by dropping major leaders over hanging their sheds and chicken coop. Although the owners were reluctant to remove we both agreed that it would be the best option coming into the wet season. Access was rather tricky, but having the new edition (our 23m spider lift) made for things to run quite smoothly, rigging every sing...le branch down to minimise breakage to surrounding gardens and structures (video supplied in comments) We would like to let everyone know that at this time we are still operating with essential or hazardous jobs until we are told further. 07.01.2022 The GAB team recently carried out an inspection and thorough clean of the gutters at Flagstaff Hill as part of some fire prevention works and to also allow the storm water system to operate and flow unobstructed. Excessive build up of leaves, twigs and dirt etc poses a risk in the case of a fire and also creates excessive weight resulting in damage to gutter and storm water run off systems. While at Flagstaff Hill, we also carried out a thorough inspection and tension adjustment of the newly replaced flagstaff up on the hill next to the light house. Over time due to the severe coastal conditions the timber and steel cables had become a safety concern resulting in the deterioration of the old structure.
05.01.2022 Recently you may have seen this impressive machine getting out & about. Over the the last few weeks we have be busy putting this truck to work as well as the smaller bobcat tree spade. At one stage we relocated 110 trees within 6 days. 03.01.2022 A couple of weeks ago we tackled this large gum causing major hazards to foundations and lifting up the driveway and paths in Camperdown. The weather was not kind to us that week but we managed to conquer the big fella in between the rain and hail squalls. Due to the location of the tree complex rigging was required of all branches and timber, causing no damage to the neighbouring properties or gardens. And all the wood was cut up into firewood lengths ready for next season.... With the state’s current circumstances, we are still able to run.
