22.01.2022 This past week I have had two super close encounters with local wallabies appearing on my path just steps away from me. At first it seemed that the message was to keep my eyes on the path and feet grounded in the now - always a good reminder. Yet on deeper inquiry the symbology of these encounters is showing up as CONSISTENCY - to keep moving forward in courageous leaps even if the path isn't entirely clear. After a week rapt with analysis paralysis, this could not have bee...n more poignant or timely medicine. For me, consistency isn't an unyielding discipline but rather, a journey of finding compassion for myself in each moment where critique or doubt threaten to stop me in my tracks. It means showing up each day with the resources I have available at that particular moment in time, without feeling the need to qualify or compare the present me to any past or future iterations. If I use a compassion heart to see the universe as friendly, I hear the Kangaroo's message to "just keep going" as a lesson that as consistency builds, my life path takes on a momentum of its own so that it becomes much more than my own personal identification with it. Suddenly life is not happening to me, it is flowing through me (as the saying goes). I have found that yoga practice is a powerful way to build consistency and compassion into daily life.
