20.01.2022 Thanks to all our visitors who attended our January 2020 Public Running Day yesterday ~ Sunday, 12th January and had a fun time riding trains [Diesel Powered ~ Electric & Petrol], picnicking, or just watching the trains go by ~ this being the second run for Summer & 1st run for 2020. ------------------------------------------ >> The weather was kind to us from beginning to almost the end enabling some enjoyable train rides ~ with low temps making the day pleasant for club mem...bers [in the many various roles] and our visiting public alike! What a huge temperature contrast to recent days/weeks. ------------------------------------------ 10 points for those keen passengers who like riding trains in slight inclement conditions [a little drizzle at the end] despite the forecast saying it was going to get better as the day progressed. ------------------------------------------ **We thank those who waited patiently for a train ride or two however the diesel trains were able to be loaded quickly and sent on their way making the queues much shorter than usual. ---------------------------- >> Our Next Public Running Day is on Sunday, 9th February 2020 ~ Last run for Summer ~ 4 weeks time. 19.01.2022 All go here today at Galston Valley Railway for our Public Running Day today ~ 1st run for the year, 2nd run for Summer ~ Sunday, 12th January 2020 with the wea...ther being ideal despite it being the middle of Summer. We’ll be running trains with diesel locomotives upfront [Electric and Petrol Powered]. Please remember we run trains till 3pm. The weather being somewhat cooler and ideal enabling some fun train rides. BBQ stall opens 11:30am. Here are some of the Locos running today, and the Stationary Engine Display in the Upper Level Picnic Area.

18.01.2022 Thanks to all our visitors who attended our March 2020 Public Running Day at Galston Valley Railway >> last Sunday, 8th March and had a fun time riding trains, ...picnicking, or just watching the trains go by ~ this being our first run for Autumn ~ which started a little damp but turned out to be quite a nice day riding trains. It was good to get our fleet of members usual running steam trains [6] out again [as December & January we missed them due to the hot conditions ~ and February was a washout]. The steam trains were "in their full glory" with the cool air just right enabling the steam exhaust looking great as like in the winter months. We also had 6 Diesels out on the track too. ------------------------------------------ >> Our Next Public Running Day at Galston Valley Railway is on Easter Sunday, 12th April 2020 ~ 2nd run for Autumn ~ just over 4 weeks time. 13.01.2022 The Hornsby Model Engineers Public Running Day Preparation Crew have once again done a great job [this morning ~ Saturday 7/03/2020] preparing the Galston Valley Railway site for tomorrow’s Public Running Day ~ 8th March 2020. As most know this activity of prep is always carried out on the previous day by a small crew. Event details:- https://www.facebook.com/events/215343193200068/... There are 3 Picnic Levels:- Upper, Station Level, and Lower (over the arched bridge). In the Upper Level we have the BBQ stall, Canteen, Stationary Engine Display, and Amenities. Our expanded Garden Railway [45mm gauge]with U-Drive for the kids. Just a short walk down the path from the main entrance.
