If there are no more slots available at your preferred park, or you would like to request an additional park in th...is area, please private messenger us, we may add slots if there is high demand. Please note that home Shofar blowings in these areas will be very limited, so if you have already requested one from www.phh.org.au/shofar, please consider changing to a "Shofar blowing locations for outer suburbs" booking. Shana Tova!

14.01.2022 Today each room was visited with the Rosh Chodesh Singalong for the Hebrew month of Av. In this month there is something sad and something happy. We are sad because the Beit Hamikdash ( Hashems' House ) was broken and burnt down on Tish B'Av. But it's not all that gloomy in Av because we can rebuild the 3rd Beit Hamikdash with our Mitzvot! ... Something happy? That's Tu B'Av! Traditionally celebrated with Weddings, proposals, vow renewals and expressions of love. Throughout the Rooms we find Mitzvah note bricks - building the Beit Hamikdash with our good deeds, the special items in the Beit Hamikdash, the infants building with blocks and singing "Sheyeboneh" and the senior Kinder investigating the Kohen Gadol's (HIgh Priest) special clothing. The children were treated to smiley face cookies in honour of Rosh Chodesh Av.

13.01.2022 Rabbi Yitzi blew the Kodos shofar for the children to compare the sound variations between the long shofar and the short shofar from a goat.

13.01.2022 This year, the Sukkah comes to you! Book a spot to have a chance to do the Mitzvot of Sukkot - shake the Lulav and Etrog and make a blessing in the Sukkah! www.chabadbentleigh.com/sm [All regulations of the DHHS will be followed]. Happy Sukkot!

09.01.2022 Tu B'Av Celebrations

04.01.2022 Tu B'Av historically was a date to find your soul mate, now a day to express our love and hold engagements and weddings, Tu B' Av offers a look into our cultural practice and the joining of two souls becoming one. We learned about Jewish Weddings, the Chuppah, the Ketuba a man's promise to look after his wife and provide for her and the meaning behind the mazal tov glass. The smashing of this is symbolic to the loss of the Beit Hamikdash in our lives. Just as the chatan and ...kallah hope to build a Jewish family together we also pray that the 3rd Beit Hamikdash will be rebuilt. For our Tu B'Av Celebrations this year some changes were made due to Covid restrictions. The children celebrated in separate groups. The Bedeken ( veiling ceremony ) was held in each room. The Rooms then arrived in groups of Senior and Junior to the Chuppah ( wedding canopy). Whomever was willing to, had the opportunity to role play the ceremony. This resulted in multiple rabbis, brides and grooms, each time yelling another Mazal Tov upon the breaking of the "glass" followed buy simcha music and dancing ( the children used hand sanitiser before joining hands for simcha dancing ) with instruments, maypole umbrella, foil pom poms and bubbles! The children rejoined their room for the Wedding feast - lunch which was formalised by the cutting of a simcha challah.

03.01.2022 Rabbi Yitzi Showed us how to make a kosher shofar in the Shofar Factory. How many Shofars have you seen? Some are long some are short, they all make a slightly different sound. The shofar blasts, sometimes slow and sometimes fast, on each blast we reflect...Tekiah the first blast is slow but not too long, it announces Hashem as King! The second, Shevarim is broken into three, we think of the choices we made, could some of them had been better? The third, Teruah is nine short... blasts that arouse us to say sorry, I know I can be kinder. The final blow Tekiah Gedolah is extended, encouraging us to make a new year resolution to Hashem saying I will be a better me! We looked at which kosher animals have the horns for a shofar. Rabbi Yitzi also told us the importance of being kind to animals and making sure we don't hurt them, just like we need to be kind to one another. Wishing you all a Shana Tova Umetukah! - A Happy Sweet New Year!

03.01.2022 Today we celebrate and thank our early Childhood Educators - they work tirelessly and passionately for us all, to give our children the very best, every day. Thank you to all those who sent lovely messages today!
