24.01.2022 Nullarbor Day 4 - Bunda Cliffs to Nundroo Roadhouse Morning tea at the famous Nullarbor Roadhouse, then off to the Head of Bight Whale Centre to watch the Southern Right whale mums and calves. There were 6 or 7 pairs in really close to shore.

24.01.2022 The things you see on a quick lunch stop in Whyalla

24.01.2022 Nullarbor Day 3 - Moodini Bluff to Bunda Cliffs Just before we crossed the WA/SA border, we stopped at the Old Eucla Telegraph Station - slowly being buried by sand. One of the most anticipated overnight stops was high on the Bunda Cliffs - the edge of Australia looking directly south to Antarctica. This place is listed on Wiki, but not any camps books, nor is it sign posted. Really need to watch your co-ordinates as you get close, as the track turn off is very easy to mi...ss. Like many others before us, we missed it so had to drive 10kms further on to make a safe turn around and try again. So glad we did. It was an awesome free camp. Enjoyed the company of Naomi, Brett and their two boys. We were very lucky with the weather - a bit windy but clear blue sky which made the fabulous views even better. We watched the sun set and enjoyed a beautiful wine and looked at the stars - thankfully no sleep walking and the car & van didn't get blown backwards off the cliff.

22.01.2022 Today we start heading north towards home. We only have 18 days remaining of this adventure. We have spent the past week at beautiful Bulli Beach in Wollongong catching up with family and many old friends - it's been hectic!

22.01.2022 Finally got my Page fixed! Now I can respond to all your comments - I love reading them all.

22.01.2022 A few quiet days in Mildura .... yet another winery, playing Sequence (which is a great boardgame), checked out the Country Music Festival and a Murray River paddlesteamer. Stayed at Apex Park, right on the bank of the Murray River.

21.01.2022 Silo art and street art - love finding these along our travels. These were all in Tumby Bay, Cowell and Wirrabara

20.01.2022 Although we have travelled through Armidale many times, we have never really looked around. Our dear friends, Zoe & Clive, recently bought the Hideaway Motor Inn, so it was a great opportunity to visit this lovely regional town. Armidale and surrounds is suffering badly in the drought. There were also bushfires in the area, raging in the super dry conditions. The Rural Fire Service were staying at the Hideaway, so our first job was to help Zoe make up lunch packs for th...e firies - it was just like old tuckshop days! On Zoe's recommendation we visited the gorgeous Gostwyck Chapel at Uralla. Next up was the super quirky speakeasy Dobson's Distillery at Kentucky for gin, whiskey and vodka tastings - fabulous decor and a delicious lunch. Dropped in to see infamous bushranger Thunderbolt's grave. We ended the day with a visit to Petersons Wines and dinner at The White Bull Pub. Our travels are nearly over and we had an early start for a super long drive to the Gold Coast to help our daughter for a few days to relocate from Central Queensland. The final countdown is on!

19.01.2022 As the song goes 'the carnival is over' - nearly. 365 days ago we kicked off on our Lap of the Map. It is time to say goodbye to my Kimberley dust covered runners that faithfully carried me up and down many Gorges, scrambled over rocks, hiked on paths, rode bikes and every other crazy thing I wanted to do. I absolutely loved 99% of the past year exploring our beautiful Australia and met many wonderful like minded adventurers along the way. We have one week on the road lef...t to attend a friend's birthday celebration and then back to real life to start planning our next trip. Thanks for following along on our road trip, hope you liked some of the photos enough to want to explore our country yourself some time in the future. Cheers, see you on the road! Love Kaz xx

16.01.2022 Hay - Junee - Yass Enjoyed visiting the Licorice & Chocolate Shop in Junee - did the tour and scoffed lots of samples. John was the Licorice Bowling Champion!

16.01.2022 Many thanks to Beaurepaires Armidale - 4pm Friday afternoon they were able to repair a slow leak in a van tyre. Great service!

16.01.2022 Nullarbor Day 5 - Nundroo Roadhouse to Streaky Bay After cooking up a big pot of vege soup to use our supplies before the quarantine control at Ceduna, we played one hole of golf on the 18 hole Nullarbor golf course. Quick look at all the windmills at Penong, and a visit to the pink Lake MacDonnell.... Then into Streaky Bay on the Eyre Peninsula for a few days to have a break from driving, a spot of fishing, restock the food supplies and catch up on the washing - all mundane but necessary chores.

14.01.2022 Coffin Bay .... you had me at oysters on a sun-drenched deck overlooking the water. We were meant to continue on to Port Lincoln, but Coffin Bay was so beautiful we couldn't leave. Oyster HQ and Oyster Farms Tours (thanks Ben, it was great to meet you) were across the road from the van park..... a dozen oysters, a steam basket of Asian goodies and a riesling from Boston Bay Wines at Port Lincoln .... sun on the deck, AFL grand final on the telly in front of the fire .... that was our Saturday. There is a Day on the Bay seafood festival on tomorrow in Coffin Bay which sounds fabulous, but Port Lincoln is waiting for us.

14.01.2022 Our official certificate to say we had successfully crossed the Nullarbor in a car & caravan!

12.01.2022 Managed to catch the last weekend of Floriade in Canberra. The flowers were spectacular. It's great catching up with old friends on our travels. Van went into storage for two nights while we caught up with Sandra & Shane - good friends that you can arrive with a load of washing to be done and you can enjoy a hot, soaking bath with a bath bomb! Yummy dinners and home made chocolate slice = bonus points. It would have been rude not to check out a few wines at Murrumbateman followed up with a picnic at Cotter Dam.

09.01.2022 Who's a happy guy then? Penfolds wine tasting with a special 50ml pour of Grange.

08.01.2022 Midnight Oil's 'Diesel and Dust' album cover house - near Burra, SA.

07.01.2022 Port Lincoln - home to all things seafood, Makybe Diva, wineries, a brewery, and an art deco cinema.

03.01.2022 When your good mates at Forging Dreams are 'forced' to wait for you in the Barossa! Thanks for your selfless act guys!

01.01.2022 Streaky Bay you're so pretty! A perfect place to recharge your batteries. Had three meals in a row of King George Whiting. Heading to Coffin Bay and Port Lincoln today.
