Its James here from garage assist, Charity and helping people have alway been apart of my life and I try to do my best to support them and the people they help as much as I can so I'm sharing a message I received from the salvation army 'bayside' in their bid to make a 100 vacant properties liveable for people in need. If you have any unwanted goods please donate especially in the current world climate.... Call for help from the Salvos: At short notice, The Salvation Army needs to move people from a temporary leased accommodation facility into long-term (COVID-safe) community-based housing. They need to make 100 empty properties across Brisbane liveable homes between now and Christmas. The community members have been sleeping rough, living in their cars, escaping domestic violence, or couch-surfing before coming to The Salvation Army for help: they do not have belongings. Salvos Stores is helping with some basic second-hand furniture, appliances, and homewares. The volume of goods needed, however, far outstrips what is available on hand. Each home also needs personal items purchased, like new pillows, towels and linen. Every day between now and Christmas we need to kit out two homes from the ground up. 100 homes. Less than 40 days. Can you help?
