The men who consumed walnuts saw significant improvement in sperm vitality, motility and morphology compared to the men who did not consume walnuts or other tree nuts.... They also found that circulating blood levels of omega-3 and omega-6 fats- were higher in the walnut eaters after the 3 month study.

We have known this for a while, that the body treats the same amount of calories from a serve of good fats compared to the same calories from sugar, but some new research from the US has uncovered something else. Volunteers were recruited to try 2 different diet types. When they ate ultra-refined foods, they tended to want to eat more, eat faster and gained weight ( 1kg in only 2 weeks!) but when they ate a calorie matched nutrient dense diet, they lost the weight they had gained, ate less and were less hungry. So is the occasional McMeal OK ? Well, no, but unlikely to have too much impact, but those who consume regularly like daily lunches may see the kgs creeping on.
