24.01.2022 August 2020: Viking Feast Book Release In 2019, I was commissioned to shoot the images for Viking Feast, a book celebrating all things Viking by the amazing team @mjolneraustralia It was an ambitious project straight off the last big push of whisky events for 2019 and it took the efforts of both the Sydney and Melbourne restaurant teams to pull it off in 9 days of shooting. It was challenging, fun and pushed me farther than any other shooting experience to date.... Once COVID hit the world at the end of 2019, the best efforts of the team were not enough to get the book released for Christmas and so it was with great joy and relief that they announced the release of the book in August 2020. This book captures the delicious food, the thirst quenching cocktails and the portraits of the key team members of both the Sydney and Melbourne restaurants. Image 1: Roast Pork Belly, Red Cabbage, Apple Miso Butter, Seeded Sauce Shot in Sydney 2019 on my Nikon D850. When I first saw this dish, I was so jealous of that perfect crackling on the pork and I wanted to make that the highlight of the dish. It made such a beautiful contrast with the colourful vegies and the lush dual sauces made this a visual feast for the senses Image 2: The Kvasir Cocktail from the old Mjolner menu Shot in Sydney 2019 on my Nikon D850 It was the way the light hit the ice that melted my heart - following those rivered cracks of the ice as it plunges into the beetroot infused vermouth cocktail was how this cocktail sung to me visually Image 3: Alexandra Dahlenburg - Venue Manager for Mjolner Australia Shot in Sydney 2019 on my Nikon D850. I had met Alex a few years ago in the Australian whisky scene, and it was refreshing to see a fearless female making her presence known in the industry. She has been a supporter of my work for years and a Viking muse for my camera and it was so satisfying to see her embrace my portrait concept on this shoot using those beautiful Viking swords #myphotographylife #myphotographyjourney #nikon #nikond850 #cocktailphotography #drinksphotography #foodphotographer #portraiture #vikingstyle

23.01.2022 February 2020: Aussie Spirits Auction If I was to start at the start of the year though, no one in Australia could forget the terrible bushfire season that ravaged our country late 2019 and early 2020. Thousands of heroes, both professional and volunteers, rallied to the cause to help save people, houses and even cities. During this time, many regional distilleries almost lost their distilleries and homes to the flames, with post after post of evacuation preparation and last ...line defences of their fire breaks etc. We feared for the lives of our friends and peers in this industry so it was a no brainer that I would donate my services to an epic @aussiespiritauction to raise funds for the RFS. It was with a grateful heart that I got to embrace my friends again, like Nick and Ally Ayres of @karu_distillery who manned the bar for the guests at the gala dinner. We always have fun and that night, despite the haze in the air and the months of emergencies, we could celebrate what amazing Australians did for their fellow aussies. #myphotographyjourney #myphotographylife #eventphotographer #aussiespiritsauction #aussiedistillers #karudistillery #bushfires2020 #aussiebushfires #drinksphotography #aussiecraftspirits

20.01.2022 Welcome to my short series about my 2020 Photography journey - the isolation of covid spread to my social media presence with me very much keeping quiet during the year despite the work I was doing. Despite everything, I hit some great goals and I want to share this journey with you. March 2020: Ardnamurchan Tasting at the Oak Barrel 2020 started quietly for me, uncertainty about covid filling the quiet first few months of the year. One by one my events were getting cancelle...d and the prospect of seeing my industry friends in Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia was fading fast. This first image choice was because this tasting was the moment sh*t got real: it was such a joy to see Alex Bruce again, and with this WIP release and an upcoming single malt release, 2020 was supposed to be a big year for Ardnamurchan. But a few hours later, every single international brand ambassador in Australia was urgently recalled back to their resident country as Australia and Europe were about to begin their lockdown on international borders to limit covid transmission. Urgent flights were organised and friends we had hoped to linger soon had to rush away. It was at this moment I realised that this year would truly be unlike any other. #myphotographyjourney #ardnamurchan #scotchwhisky #whiskyphotography #myphotographylife #photographer #nikon #nikond850 #igerssydney #eventphotographer

16.01.2022 The Heart of An Angel: Bought this beauty from Ben at Moreish Wines and I cannot wait to try it! A cask strength bourbon from Angel's Envy at 61.2% with a nose and palate of honeyed apples. Looking forward to tasting this delicious treat!... Thank you to all the friends and family who have reached out to me during this covid period to see how I am going. I am going well - healthy and happy but missing my friends that I normally get to visit during events in this period. World Whisky Day has flown by in lockdown, as has the annual Feis Ile but it has been great to see businesses being able to pivot in this period. I strongly encourage all of you out there to support your local bar/restaurant/distillery and #buylocal to keep businesses trading through this terrible time. Lots of love and stay safe xx

05.01.2022 Happy Ardbeg Day my friends! Hope you have a bleating good time

03.01.2022 This image is a love letter to the amazing team at @crystalcleariceco First of all, I hope that if you are reading this, you are healthy and keeping safe during these terrible times. Life shifted and froze for a lot of us, myself included, but thanks to wonderful clients, I have been vigorously working on product photography to get me through each day. I hope to share some of these amazing images with you soon!! One of those shoots is for a very special craft vodka that wil...l soon be released and the client requested ice in the photos. After some dud callouts, help arrived from Ladi and the amazing team at Crystal Clear Ice Co in Maroubra, who not only supplied me with their beautiful clear ice cubes, but cut them to my custom size and delivered them to my place for a bargain price. Buying bulk cube ice for old fashioneds and collins spears are actually really good value for a party or if you have freezer space and the service these guys provided is next to none. So thank you guys and let this photo be just one example of their beautiful clear cubes. Also, the small amount of melt you see in the photo is caused by my modelling lights and strobes being on for a 30 minute shoot!! #thankyouteam #notsponsored #crystalcleariceco #icephoto #icephotography #blackandwhitephoto #b&w #nocolour #stillphotography
