23.01.2022 Another great hamper day for our community done and dusted. 40+ hampers as well as 4 crates of tomatoes, sweet potatoes and capsicums on their way to the backpackers at Grantham. God is good. Doing whatever it takes to bring hope where its needed most!

Next week we will be introduced to a man who will, by his ministry of encouragement have profound effect on the early church. As a church, we need to Stand up for Jesus, we need to be a church that boldly and confidently prays and we need to be encouragers! How are you going with your actions after Pentecost? How are you going at being like Jesus in our world? If we live out the characteristics of Jesus in our lives then we will make a difference in the world around. RED SHIELD 2020 For the past week we have been out at Gatton IGA and Plainlands Woolworths collecting much needed funds to continue the work that we do in our community. This year we have done most of our appeal online with our digital door knock page. I am proud to say that we are getting closer to our $5000 goal. Please continue to engage in this year’s appeal so we can smash past our target and raise money so we can continue to support our corps and community here in the Lockyer Valley. We trust our kids are enjoying a well-earned break. This also means we are edging that little bit closer to resuming church again. And strangely enough, today we turn our focus to patience. PATIENCE IS A LIFESTYLE! We need to be patient & trust that God is sorting things out in our lives. We have also been very busy lately with red shield, preparing church as more groups start to resume, hamper days and continuing to be available to you, our church members and our community. Lots more information about these things will be made available in coming weeks when we start our printable weekly newsletters again. They had received the promise of the Holy Spirit and were covered with power from on high. But power for what? Was it simply so they could feel good about themselves? Was it so they could keep it for themselves? No! They received the power of God to energize them to be witnesses for Jesus in the world around them. It is to enable us to reach out and touch human need and share the truth of the Gospel. Today, we are going to look closely at how we can be a spirit filled church and how to be a witness for Jesus in our world. We trust you enjoy church this week. Many Blessings!!!

The degree of life’s severity differs from person to person. As I write this, many around the world are experiencing heartbreaking realities. I am thinking immediately of homelessness, the hungry, the poor and the sick. There is so many things around the world that can make life HARD. But we can find rest in Jesus! Jesus wants us to know that everything is going to be all right. Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. So let Jesus take your burden.
