08.01.2022 Attention Familes! Back by popular demand.... Intro to Swimming Lessons will recommence as Monday 2nd November 2020. Only $8 per lesson per child (the centre covers the rest of the lesson cost).... Pre-Prep starts Monday 2nd Nov and will continue each fortnight until the end of the school term. Senior Kindy starts Monday 9th Nov and will continue each fortnight until the end of the school term.

Make today so awesome yesterday gets jealous and remember there's a superhero in all of us!! WHAT IS DRAMATIC PLAY?... Dramatic play is s a type of play where children assign and accept roles and act them out. It’s pretending to be someone or something else. Someone different and new like a supervillain, or someone well known and familiar like mom. Sometimes children take on real-world roles, other times they take on fantasy roles. Either way, it is play that involves breaking down the barriers of reality and results in serious and natural learning. Pretend play can take on multiple forms, and while pretending may just look like playing, it is integral to the developmental learning process. It should be encouraged, and children need lots of opportunities to engage.

01.01.2022 Happy Diwali Miss Anj has been very busy cooking up a storm for Diwili. She has lovingly prepared a tasting box of traditional foods. If you would like to try one they will be available this afternoon in the foyer. Miss Anj has also been teaching our children all about Diwali while they help her decorate our entrance. You may notice today that some of our Gaven ELC team have been chosen to wear some of Miss Anj's beautiful dresses. Make sure you get a quick pic with y...our favourite of the day.... (there may just be a little prize for the parents who posts a photo of themselves and the educator wearing the winning dress).. **Diwali is called the Festival of Lights and is celebrated to honor Rama-chandra, the seventh avatar (incarnation of the god Vishnu). It is believed that on this day Rama returned to his people after 14 years of exile during which he fought and won a battle against the demons and the demon king, Ravana. People lit their houses to celebrate his victory over evil (light over darkness). The goddess of happiness and good fortune, Lakshmi, also figures into the celebration. It is believed that she roams the Earth on this day and enters the house that is pure, clean, and bright.
