15.01.2022 Attention Landlords Unless you have someone regularly inspecting your property’s roof and gutters, you just don’t know what condition your investment is really in. Things on the ground level may present well but that doesn’t mean water isn’t making its way into roof spaces due to cracked tiles, full gutters and blocked downpipes.

Homes in suburban areas without many overhanging trees will generally have these moss growths instead of bulky leaf matter.

01.01.2022 A typical problem with tiled roofs that butt up to walls and tiled gable ends is water making it’s way across the under-flashing and into the roof cavity. The strip/side flashing installed never has enough of a lip to channel the water. If this is an issue for you, I suggest placing some self adhesive D rubber down the outer edge of the metal flashing to act as a water boundary.

01.01.2022 If you really want to rust out your gutters then install hedgehog guard. It traps debris and water in your gutter which causes blockages. Gutters are meant to be open and free flowing. The more contraptions you stuff in and over them, the more damage you’ll do over the long term.
