11.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM AFL BARWON Dear players and parents, We have just received information from AFL Barwon advising that in light of the governments restrictions that come into play at midnight on Wednesday, the Junior netball & football season has been cancelled immediately.... We wish to thank all the players and parents for helping us get through the 3 rounds successfully and it was great to see the smiles on the faces of our juniors in this difficult year. A big thank you to our committee, coaches, coordinators and volunteers who have all worked so hard to get this season started and keep the club going. We now look forward to the Summer season when restrictions are eased, and even further towards the 2021 home & away season. Stay safe everyone

08.01.2022 As we await updates on the future of our season we wanted to share with you some reassuring news about the financial position of the club ... As most of you will know, grassroots sporting clubs such as ours have been devastated financially by the current pandemic and not all will survive. With an annual turnover in excess of half a million dollars, our club depends heavily on several income streams including membership fees, sponsorship, food and beverage sales through the... kitchen, bar and canteen, grants and social fundraising events. Thanks to the efforts and generosity of many people and our CLUB 2020 sponsors , I am happy to report that our club is strong and that we will come out the other side of this in better shape than most. Our Club 2020 sponsors have been unbelievably supportive and deserve our heartfelt thanks. Similarly, we thank those who have paid their membership so willingly. A very special thanks to Muzza, Kay, Zoe and Wazza (and the many other helpers) who have opened up the canteen most weekends for the past 10 weeks giving us the opportunity to come together and to make some money for the club. This goes a long way to paying our bills and building a reserve to position us for whatever financial challenge we face next year. NEVILLE HUNTER - GAFNC TREASURER

06.01.2022 Our wonderful gatehouse lady Janine Baird has decided to give away this most important of duties after 13 years of loyal service. Her reliability was brilliant. Our heartfelt thanks go to Janine for her efforts over this time. We look forward to seeing Janine down at the club in the forthcoming season to enjoy the social part of the Ammos.
