24.01.2022 Amazing anatomical drawing skills on a black board at Melbourne University (underside of skull and roof of mouth) We were up there improving anatomy skills in the Unis laboratories. A big thanks to all the people who have donated their bodies to science. Such a selfless act that is crucial for the progression of modern medicine!

18.01.2022 Good luck to all the runners doing the Melbourne marathon this Sunday. Read on for some simple tips on how to achieve your race goal by avoiding common mistakes runners make (often with their hydration and nutrition) during long distance events. 1) Dont over hydrate on race day, recent studies have shown performance was better in a group of long distance runners that "drank to their thirst" rather than drank pre determined amounts of fluid during their race. Stay well hydrat...ed the day before the race and avoid diuretics like coffee the morning of your race. Try to consume the last of your pre race fluids 45 min before the race start time. You dont want to be making toilet stops mid race! 2) Avoid taking on too much sugar. If you are using energy "gels" make sure that you are taking them with water, not washing them down with a sports drink. If the concentration of sugar or carbohydrates in your stomach is too high then its absorption into the blood stream is impeded, leaving you feeling sluggish and with an upset stomach. 3) Enjoy it, there is no need to be nervous! The weather is looking fantastic and you have done all the hard work and training required, nothing can change your preparation now. Just keep an eye on your pace and stick to you target time, you will do great : ) GOOD LUCK
