20.01.2022 To all our weightlifting, powerlifting, strongman and crossfit brothers and sisters, may you all have a strong and safe New Year for 2016!!! Look out for each other, thank everyone who has helped you along the way, and cherish your family and friends. Finally, sincere thanks to Michael Torriero for the expertise and insight he has continually offered us in our quest to become better lifters and athletes. You hold the club together, and we really could not do it without you.... Also thank you to the Committee for your support in the smooth running of club competitions and events, and for driving the future direction of BWC. And to everyone at BWC: thank you all for your hard work, and for making our club such a friendly and welcoming place to be. You truly make BWC feel like a second home. See you all on the other side, Barwon Weightlifting Club (PS: its a hot one, so stay strong, and stay hydrated)

10.01.2022 ..."The strength to defeat a thousand enemies."---Lu Xiaojun This is the mantra Lu Xiaojun had when he snatched 180kg during his training camp last year, it...s what he subsequently inscribed on his gold shoes, and its what he will take to Rio to defend his Olympic title! This mantra is the result of long-term training to display maximal strength automatically within the bounds of "close, fast, low, timing, and stable." Whether your goal is to defeat 10, 100, or even 1000 opponents, you can remind yourself to be strong with the new, Lu-approved, 1000 enemies poster available in the store link in our bio. #mastrengthyourstrength #Chineseweightlifting #weightlifting #luxiaojun #77 #snatch #snatches #strong

10.01.2022 Check this out Michael Torriero

10.01.2022 Good morning all! Good news: training at Barwon Weightlifting Club has resumed as per normal! You may be aware that our club was flooded to the extreme downpour that hit Geelong on Wednesday. While the flooring certainly was flooded, the water wasnt so deep as to cover the platforms. The underside of the platforms will likely need replacing out some point, but for now they are certainly still useable. And thankfully the barbells and plates were untouched.... However be advised that you may have to bear with clean-up and repair work that will be going on over the next few weeks. This will also mean that competitions at the Club will be re-scheduled, and dates for these are to be confirmed. Otherwise it is business as usual here at BWC! If you have any further questions Michael Torriero can be contacted via the mobile number listed on this page, or send us a message through here. A little bit of water aint enough to stop us from lifting ;)

04.01.2022 "Victorious warriors win first, then go to war."---Sun Zi The Art of War Without any rivals left in the snatch, Deng Wei (63kg) lowered her third attempt from 1...15 to 113 to win the gold in the snatch even though she can snatch more. Then she built up her winning total on her first attempt and opened herself up successfully battle a world record clean and jerk off 146kg (2.3x bodyweight)! This is how it should be done. Win first, then go to war. #mastrength #mastrengthyourstrength #chineseweightlifting #63 #cleanandjerk #splitjerk #weightlifting #crossfit #crossfitweightlifting #womensweightlifting #girlswholift #olympicweightlifting #strong #mastery
