17.01.2022 Effective Pain Relief During Pregnancy Acupuncture has been used for centuries to effectively treat women suffering pelvic pain (sacroiliac joint and pubic join...t pain) during pregnancy. For relieving pelvic pain in pregnant women, a study published in the British Medical Journal found "Acupuncture was superior to stabilising exercises." In fact, acupuncture was shown to be more effective than standard treatment or stabilising exercises. Please feel free to share this post with family and friends, especially if they're pregnant. 15.01.2022 Corrective exercise is another modality utilised in Myotherapy. The prescription of corrective exercise is effective to increase strength and flexibility which may be contributing to your pain. These exercises will be monitored and altered as your pain and dysfunction is reduced.

15.01.2022 Another treatment modality used in Myotherapy is cupping! Cupping is used to reduce muscle contracture and promote blood flow to the area.

11.01.2022 Today is World Mental Health Day, coinciding with World Mental Health. Mental health is not a topic Australians should shy away from. Many people experience challenges in life and deal with them in different ways. Sometimes the challenges we face are difficult and we may have trouble working our way through them. That's why reaching out for help to a family member, friend or a health worker will help you to take the first steps in right direction. Check out the World Mental Health website.

04.01.2022 Dry needling is a modality commonly used in Myotherapy to treat the musculoskeletal system. This modality aims to deactivate trigger points and effectively reduce contracture within that muscle. It also works on the neuromuscular aspect of pain to reduce this sensation and restore function to the area. This tool can be effective for many conditions including: -headaches -lower back pain... -muscle strains -neck and shoulder pain -carpal tunnel -tennis elbow -hip and knee pain See more

03.01.2022 Belief: You need to do vigorous exercise if you want to get any benefit Expert verdict: No, you don't. But vigorous exercise can have some important extra benef...its for some people. You don't have to push yourself really hard when you exercise to get health benefits. If you've been inactive, and you start doing around 30 minutes a day of moderate exercise where you're breathing a bit harder than normal but you can still talk - you can cut your risk of heart disease by up to half (and reduce your risk of lots of other nasties too). Vigorous exercise can save you time; you can get the same health benefits as you would from a session of moderate exercise in roughly half the time. At the end of the day - the FITTER YOU ARE the less likely you are to die of most health conditions. SO GET OUT THERE AND START MOVING !!!!! You have to start somewhere.

02.01.2022 Did you know that joint mobilisation is a modality used in Myotherapy? Joint mobilisation is used to treat musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction through moving a joint within its normal range to improve function within that joint.
