23.01.2022 Today’s nursery rhyme was twinkle twinkle little star, so Mr L created his very own sensory night sky bag. Mr L added water and a number of different star shaped sequins and glitter along with some little beads before sealing it all up. Mr L then used his fingers and hands to squish and squash the bag along with manipulating the water to cause the objects inside to move.



23.01.2022 This week it’s all about nursery rhymes in our toddlers room, we began today by looking at the nursery rhyme Incy Wincy spider. We all sat down at the table where paper, paint and string were provide for us to create our own interpretation of a spiders web, we then added hand print spiders when they were dry.

22.01.2022 This Morning Mr L explored cause and effect with the monkey flip game. He carefully placed each monkey onto the clipboard and would then press down and watch the monkeys fly through the air and see where it would land. He also discovered that if he changed the amount of force he use to press upon it would affect how high and far the monkeys would fly. Mr L had a great time and we loved seeing the smiles and laughs each time he launched a monkey.

22.01.2022 It‘s beginning to look a lot like christmas Today we started decorating the centre before our Christmas party at the end of next week. The Kindy children were excited to help decorate the Christmas tree and when we were done we had our own lighting of the tree celebration.



21.01.2022 Today the kindy children created their own passports, ready to travel to abroad. This week we will be exploring London. Today we researched the weather over there so that we know what to pack, as well as created our own drawings of the landmarks we want to visit. The Queen was a popular choice! Today we also that it often snows in London each year.

20.01.2022 Today the toddlers enjoyed singing 5 little ducks during morning mat time and then used their creative skills to make their very own duck with paint, feathers and glue.

16.01.2022 Paw Prints Today the toddlers used a circle container to create circle prints on grey paper and then used the tips of their finger to create 3 dots above to create a paw print.

15.01.2022 Today our kindy children investigated the world globe, learning its purpose and exploring the information it tells us. Following on from yesterday where we looked at London, today we used the globe to locate London’s position within the world and then traced this back to Perth. The children where surprised to find that London was so far from Perth that it would take about 20 hours on a plane or about 30 days on a boat. We all decided this was a very long time and we would much rather go by aeroplane.

15.01.2022 Going on a Easter hunt to see if the Easter bunny has been. Happy Easter to all our families, have a happy and safe Easter break. Can’t wait to hear what you all did over the Easter break.

15.01.2022 As part of the kindy children’s interest this week, we have been putting insects under the microscope! The children have enjoyed investigating the function of the microscope and are intrigued by the detail we have been able to see on insects. Today we focused on the antennae or the feelers and took turns locating and identifying the feelers on each of the insects. We also discussed the purpose of the feelers, which is to help the insect smell and feel things. Imagine being able to smell your dinner from the other side of a football field? They also help them feel the surface of objects and if they are hot or cold.

11.01.2022 Today our nursery and toddler friends explored their creativity through brush painting. We explored lines and shapes and the children were able to explore colours by mixing them together. Painting allows children to try new experiences and feel a sense of pride and achievement with what they can produce.



10.01.2022 Today the kindy children focused on road safety, in recognition of this week being national Road Safety Awareness week for 2020. We looked at some examples of road signs and the importance of obeying these, both for people in cars and for pedestrians. For example give way and stop signs, animal crossing and the different traffic light signals. To extend on the children’s awareness of this we added some road signs to our bike track, facilitating the children’s interest in these as well as promoting lots of chat between each other about times that they have seen these road signs.

10.01.2022 Today the toddlers had a fantastic time reading and sing some of their favourite nursery rhymes. Stories and songs helps the children further expand their literacy skills and are great for encouraging social interactions.

10.01.2022 Today the vacation care children took part in their own Mexican day. mexican flower crowns where made, and a scrumptious set up of delicious tacos for the children to make their own. YUM!! What a way to start the holidays.

09.01.2022 Puzzle play is a great way to provide children with a challenge and allowing them to learn how to focus, concentrate, persist and complete a set task. Children feel a sense sense of pride and accomplishment once the puzzle has been completed.

09.01.2022 Today the children used their creativity to design their own fish giving them their own unique colours and patterns, before adding glitter and sequins for their sparkly scales.

09.01.2022 Today Miss R and Miss K explored a different kind of bubbles, these being fluffy bubbles. They loved to place them onto the messy mats and place their hands and fingers into them to explore what they felt like along with splashing in them and watching them as they went everywhere giggling as this occurred.

08.01.2022 This afternoon the kindy children explored our outdoor yard, hunting for bugs to investigate under magnifying glasses. We where lucky enough to spot some slaters in the garden which we enjoyed observing under the magnifying glasses. We noticed the smaller ones where darker in colour then the bigger ones. After we finished our observations, we made sure they where returned to their natural habitat.

07.01.2022 This afternoon we got a real treat when farmer Ray came by with two little baby animals. There was a lamb called Lucy and a goat called Bullseye and they are only 4 weeks old. We were extremely lucky to be able to give them a bottle and show how gentle and caring we all can be when giving them a pat and cuddle.

07.01.2022 Today we have enjoyed expressing our artistic flare through the creation of hats, for our Easter hat parade. Using strips of black card the children enjoyed cutting out and decorating their own hats, using collage materials and glue(lots of glue!). For those that will be at daycare tomorrrow, we look forward to seeing their hats during our easter hat parade, and those that won’t, have assured us they will parade their beautifully decorated hats for their family.

07.01.2022 In the kindy room this week we have become learning about the United Kingdom and today the children used the large lego LEGO blocks to create their own castles and when they were asked who lived in the castle they replied the queen. The kindy children have enjoyed learning about another country and the differences between here and there.

06.01.2022 Fruit Pizzas Today our little toddler chefs got busy creating a very healthy afternoon, this began with choosing what they would like to create and the winner was fruit pizzas. Miss Charlotte then collected all the ingredients we would need before we stated to construct our pizza using a slice of watermelon as the base and then selecting from kiwi fruit, strawberries, apple slices, banana and mandarin for the toppings.

05.01.2022 Congratulations to Mr C for winning our Easter Raffle. Happy Easter

05.01.2022 Today when outside we set up the easel to do some painting. The children enjoyed making long strokes with the paint brushes and mixing the colours to create new ones. Most of the children when they saw the paint on the tray said they were going to paint the rainbow. It was a very creative morning.

05.01.2022 Our toddlers have revisited a creative experience that they enjoyed last week, dot painting. Today they used this form of painting to created their own kookaburras as part of extending their knowledge of Australian animals.

04.01.2022 We have kicked of our vacation care program today. First stop Landsdale Farm. We got to see all diffrent types of farm animals and got to interact with some helping feed them. We learnt some different names for different types of chickens. There are many different types. We collected some eggs from the nesting boxes before going to play with the baby goats. We got to have a fun train ride around the park. After some lunch we also had a play at the park before finishing of... feeding the sheep and alpacas before heading back to the centre. It was great to see our children asking many different questions about the animals they were seeing. See more

04.01.2022 In the toddlers room we got into the Christmas spirit today by creating our very own Christmas scenes/pictures using our favourite craft material stickers.

01.01.2022 Today the toddlers nursery rhyme was 3 little speckled Frogs, so they recreated it with a circle mat for the pond, wooden blocks for the log and coloured plastic frogs. While sing the rhyme the children would use the item for each of the actions with in the rhyme.
