25.01.2022 Screen time ( of another kind!) I have just finished re screening and re oiling this screen door I made a few years ago for a house in Hazelbrook. I have added a strip of timber to stop little people pushing on the mesh ( which resulted in being pushed right out by a visiting little person!)
25.01.2022 Life just became so much easier and less dusty with this new router set up! I had been using a small makita router for the past 20 + years that I bought when I finished Art School and was getting set up. This is just the next level up in precision and ease of use and so much less dust!!
24.01.2022 Made a start on installing these built in wardrobes today with @y.cabinetmaker We were delayed by the rain yesterday! Back next week to finish installing the pantry units as well as the trim and kickboards.

23.01.2022 I am very excited to have found this book in my letterbox this week! I’ve been waiting for it for a while! It looks to be a valuable resource for kitchen design, planning and making! It’s also timely with my big kitchen project having been moved from workshop today to its new home, ready to be installed!

23.01.2022 78 holes to drill at a 15 degree angle. Fun times on a job for an entrance area. This will be part of a coat hook which will have moveable wooden pegs that can be placed and changed around. The peg ends are going to be painted different colours by the client. Will be interested to see how this ends up looking in situ.

16.01.2022 After months of delays due to building hold ups, I was able to install this entrance area job with the help of a friend. The client will paint the pegs for the coat rack different colours. The whole space looks really inviting now!

13.01.2022 Happy birthday to our first born who turned 19 yesterday! It’s hard to believe that it has been 19 years since our bundle of joy came into the world on a winters Sunday morning in Melbourne. We have loved watching you grow and become the wonderful person you are today!
12.01.2022 Great way to end the week with this photo from my client! Cabinetry that I made using @maxiplywood and installed by the clients builder. After months of planning and making and then having all the cabinets in bits in my workshop it’s such a delight to see it all come together! It’s starting to look like a home now!
12.01.2022 I was saddened to hear about the announced closing down of the @anu_furniture and object &design workshop at the Canberra School of Art. I had the privilege of spending some formative years here learning under George Ingham as well as some fantastic visiting artists. The experience and learning I gained from my time here has stayed with me. There are not many places left in Australia now that offer the training in such skills and once it’s gone it’s gone...

It’s a always good to have a look at the space it’s going to fit into whilst building the cabinetry. Plumbing and electrics have to be considered too! Looking forward to seeing this job come together!
