24.01.2022 Just completed lettering the Eldritch Kid: Bone War #3 comic written by Christian D. Read, illustrated by Dr. Paul Mason, and coloured by Justin Randall. This one will be getting sent out to their Bone War Kickstarter backers very soon.

24.01.2022 Gestalt Studios provided book design services for Von Editions publication of Christian D. Read's new weird fantasy novel, Nil-Pray. Featuring cover illustration commissioned from Simon Kennedy with typesetting and design by Wolfgang Bylsma, the glorious look and feel of the hardcover editions sold fast at festivals and conventions around Australia. "In a Gothic metropolis of the Dead, a necromancer learns that secrets never die."

24.01.2022 Gestalt Studios provided typography and layout refinements for the second edition of an amazing childrens book, Our Little Yuin, for Shooting Star Press. Our Little Yuin was written and illustrated by children of Little Yuin Aboriginal Preschool. The school is located in Wallaga Lake Village on the far south coast of New South Wales and its people are Yuin people, part of the Yuin Nation. Our Little Yuin is launching at Narooma Public Library, 4pm, 22nd November.... Created during the children’s final term before starting school, these words and paintings show that Little Yuin is a special place. Yuin is a sleeping language and the writing includes Yuin words that became very familiar to the children in their time at the preschool. Water sometimes bubbled through the children’s dreaming path, where there is a stone walkway with animal carvings. During workshops they chose an animal from this set of stone sculptures as their special totem. They made paper rubbings of their animal to decorate their hats for a celebration gifting books to the younger children, and shared their paintings and stories with their families and community. With this book, the children hope to share and celebrate Yuin culture and identity with new children who come to Little Yuin as well as with you.

23.01.2022 Comics lettering is an art in its own right, often overlooked or ill-considered. Wolfgang Bylsma recently undertook remastering the Eldritch Kid: Whisky & Hate graphic novel for Gestalt Comics, revisiting the narrative flow, placement and style of lettering used in its original publication in 2011. The remastered edition will be released in 2019, in both digital and hardcover formats.
