21.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Centrepoint have got back to me in regards to lane hire advising "Following an operational review, Council is not allowing hire of facilities for private swimming lessons and / or training." Prior to the centre being closed for pool renovation this was available. Information on their website indicates its available for hire. ... This means unfortunately at this point in time I will not be working for myself from Blayney Pool. I am investigating other options, this unfortunately took me by surprise. Keep an eye on my page and i will let you know where i am working. Lanai

20.01.2022 The Y (YMCA) take over the running of Centrepoint (Blayney Pool) from the 31st of August and they want to hear from customers. If you have a quick few minutes to complete a survey i feel that it would help with the improvement of the centre. https://www.surveygizmo.com//56952/Blayney-Customer-Survey

19.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Unfortunately the decision to stop private operators from using Centrepoint stands. However I do see a positive with YMCA taking over on the 31st of August. If you are after swimming lessons for Term 3 and you were with me prior to COVID at Bathurst i would recommend continuing with Bathurst Swimming Academy and use your credit. They by far have the best swim program I believe in the central west.... In the meantime i am unsure what i will be doing in terms of swimming for term 3 at this stage. Once i know i will let you all know where i will be working. If you haven't already go and check out the new Blayney Pool its absolutely sensational. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to send a message or email to [email protected] Regards Lanai

06.01.2022 Having not been in the pool since March I don’t want to be rusty when we eventually get back in the water. My afternoon yesterday was a Zoom training with focus of freestyle and backstroke basics with Emma and Laurie Lawrence. I don’t want to be a swim teacher I want to be a great swim teacher, so I jump at every opportunity to do training. There’s always room for improvement.

04.01.2022 Some good news. Breaking News NSW From the Deputy Chief of Staff Office of the Minister for Sport Distancing rules for children once in the pool. Is it the same as school/preschool? Distancing rules will be listed in the yet to be approved Public Health Order (13 June). You should be using the 4sqm rule as a guide together with the 100 people cap for indoor facilities.... For learn to swim age group help and guidance Instructors need to have contact with the children. Duty of care in the water without a parent and with their instructor is a priority. Instructors will be able to assist children in the pool as required. When conducting private lessons with special needs children does the distancing rule apply? If so how? These lessons are provided one on one with the instructor and are also considered as therapy for some with certain medical conditions. Socialising distance will not apply in the pool and Instructors will be able to assist as required. Will need to wait on the Public Health Order to ensure I am meeting the requirements. Looking on track to start 20th July. Will keep everyone posted on enrolment in coming weeks.

03.01.2022 If you haven’t seen already check out this new pool I will be working out of very soon. My existing students and parents will remember what it was previously like in winter. But not anymore warm and toasty, underground heating, family change rooms, disabled access and change rooms.. I can’t wait to check this out in person. ... https://www.blayneychronicle.com.au//blayneys-councillor/
