09.01.2022 Just 57 years ago, the Alkimos was finally dragged off the beach south of Yanchep. She didn't get far. Anchored less than a kilometer offshore, she sat powerless and waited for another recue. She then snapped both anchor chains at the hawser pipes and drifted seaward, turned around and drifted back toward shore. The Alkimos's last act happed when she broke her back on submerged reef. Water filled the bowel of the hull and she was doomed forever. Shortly after, the Alkimos was declared a derelict shipwreck.
03.01.2022 The true account of a jinxed vessel that made world headlines as one of the most mysterious stories in maritime history. Its remains lie beneath the waves on a ...beach named Alkimos, just north of Perth WA. For more than 40years, many uninvited guests suffered frightening experiences, injuries sicknesses; even death for a few. Some still claim weird happenings on the beach near the wreck site. Ships crews, caretakers, and wreck intruders claimed to have seen a ghoul dressed in oilskins that stamped across steel decks and through stell walls. For believers, no proof is necessary, For non-believers, no proof is possible
03.01.2022 A true account of one of the most haunted ships in maritime history. It stands as an Australian best seller book with an enormous following both in Australia and overseas. Available from www.jackwongsue.com One of 2751 American WW2 Liberty Ships, hastily built for the war effort, this vessel led a dogged life of mysterious happenings from its first launch. A murder-suicide remained hushed up for more than 60 years until the research of this very popular book.... Post-war, with different owners and 3 different name changes, it lived on as a jinxed and frightening vessel. Tough fisted rough nut crews, booed the stupidity of a so-called ghoul in oilskins reportedly stomping the ship's decks in heavy sea-boots. They signed on to the 'Alkimos' for crew duties but later, fled down the ship's gangways at their first opportunity. The haunted Alkimos broke its back on a reef north of Perth Western Australia and was declared a derelict shipwreck in 1964. For more than 40 years, it sat idle above the waves, wanting to set sail again. Uninvited guests made their way aboard to experience the wrath of the unknown; mysterious disappearances, equipment breakdowns, personal injury, sickness, and death, are just but a few. Finally, in late 2003, its rusted hull finally succumbed to the force of nature and crashed below the waves. Today, the Perth suburb of Alkimos overlooks what little remains of the shipwreck that still pops its presence above low tide. Locals still report occasional strange happenings on the beach opposite the wreck site. Written down the middle for both paranormal enthusiasts as well as healthy skeptics, this book has been warmly received from both sides. For the believer, no proof is necessary. For the non-believer, no proof is possible. 'Ghost of the Alkimos' is a great read and a popular gift for those who enjoy reading maritime history with a stark difference. It contains plenty of good quality photos pasted on top quality duotone paper. Order your copy now from www.jackwongsue.com for fast and secure delivery to your front door.
