Now is the time to be setting up your growing area... lots of manure and well draining soil... let it rest for 6 weeks before planting. Get out there when the weather gives you a chance over the next two weeks and get your plot ready.

As many of the local shows ie Parklea Pakenham Show was cancelled we thought you could still enter your Giant Vegetables online. 04.01.2022 Dracunculus vulgaris. or Dead Horse Lilley. We are have been growing this plant for a few years now. I has a beautiful velvety flower but the large stamen in the centre gives off a horrible smell similar to a dead animal, which lasts about 3 days. We always cut the stamen out and enjoy the flower. Who else grows these lillies?
