21.01.2022 A personal post of my own that I thought I would re share here. (But I did edit my swearing) Janine Some unwanted opinions and uneducated views have been heard And noted.... So Let’s talk racism and what I call reverse racism or pretty much just being an A hole I raise these kids in a way to give them the best education, in my family’s case a very unconventional education, but we teach the ways that my children will learn the best. They know their culture, They are so proud that others view them as arrogant but they are kind, loving upstanding and giving. Being light skinned we often hear the filthy Racist remarks from people who don’t realise we are Aboriginal. They are addressed And put on our rubbish list. They also hear you don’t look Aboriginal Which is answered with You didn’t look stupid until you said that But to hear racIsm within our mobs towards each other was something I am left shaking my head in disbelief and disappointment at. I have 5 children and the best way To describe their skin is that They range from milky bar, caramilk, top deck, milk choc to dark choc. Their lighter skin colour does not make them any less black. And having dark skin don’t make you a proud and worthy Aboriginal. I wouldn’t like to dare try tell their grandmother that aren’t Aboriginal because they’re fair skinned and are not dark. They are her pride and joy. Why are we seeing this divide within our culture? It’s not our way It’s shameful. If these kids want to learn, show them The way #culturenotcolour See more
