23.01.2022 It is with mixed emotions that we announce that CP Qualified has been retired from international competition. CP Qualified who is better known as Darcy or Fluff...y has been a special member of Shane’s team for several years. Darcy was selected and traveled to France in 2014 for the World Championships however an untimely crack in a hoof meant he was unable to compete. They bounced back and in 2015 Darcy and Shane won the Taupo (NZL) CCI4*-L and Adelaide CCI5* as well as several CCI4*-S competitions. These results earned Darcy a trip to the Rio Olympic Games and while things did not go to plan in Rio we are still very proud of his achievements and feel he showed the world what a top class horse he is with his two podium finishes in Germany at the Aachen CCI4*-S in 2016 and 2017. In 2018 Darcy qualified for the World Equestrian Games and was Shane's reserve horse for the World Championships, also in 2018 he placed in the top ten in two Event Rider Master competitions (Blair Castle in Scotland and Jardy in France). Darcy was a star in the dressage arena and a wonderful jumper, he was not a speed machine but he loved cross country. Since 2016 Darcy has been based at Symphony Farm in the UK with Sam Griffiths, huge thanks to Sam and his team who have taken such good care of Darcy and prepared him beautifully so that Shane could just fly in and compete him. Thanks also to Rachel Watts who has been Darcy's competition groom since 2015. Darcy has now started his journey home to Australia where he will be reunited with his owners Elizabeth, Felicity and Adrian Wischer. Darcy will be living out his days at the Wischer Family property in Melbourne and we look forward to seeing Elizabeth and Darcy building and enjoying a partnership together. Thank you so much to the Wischer family who have been wonderful supporters of Darcy and Shane, they have certainly had the roller coaster ride with this beautiful horse and we are so pleased that you will now have the chance to enjoy him in your own backyard. Big thanks to Equestrian Australia for your support over the years through the High Performance Program.
