Not only do we attend to incidents in our area we will also get sent to other areas where assistance is required for example Coonamble or Dubbo. This could be just to provide firefighting coverage whilst there stations an engaged in a major incident. Recently our Tanker with 2 of our crew members was sent Port Macquarie to assist with the flood clean up. The previous summer's bushfire disaster our tanker was sent multiple times with crew members going along to assist with that emergency. We train the 1st and 3rd Monday every month on all different scenarios. We also provide educational visits to schools and people in the community. We can also come around and assist in replacement of batteries in smoke alarms and check that they are working correctly.

18.01.2022 The crew from 300 Gilgandra return from a five day deployment to the Port Macquarie area today after joining hundreds of other firefighters to assist with flood recovery operations. Over the past few days they have cleaned out flooded houses and assisted residents impacted by the floods in order to help these communities get back on their feet. A long recovery operation will continue for weeks. Well done Cate and Grant on your efforts.
