24.01.2022 Dear families, Dont forget tomorrow evening will be our 2018 Acquaintance Night. 20.01.2022 At Gilles Street, we are committed to making our little corner of the world a place where everyone belongs. For many, many years, through our IELC program, we have been fortunate to have made life-long friendships with families from many, many countries around the globe. Tomorrow we celebrate this on Harmony Day. Students can wear orange or bright-coloured clothing if they wish as a symbol of our diversity (clothing must be sun-safe and no slogans or inappropriate images please). Now, lets see how many countries in the world we have here at Gilles St. I can start us off with El Salvador. What countries do your families come from?

13.01.2022 What glorious weather we have for the end of what had been a very busy first term! This post is a reminder to all GSPS families that the last day of this term will be this Friday, the 13th of April. As with the day before Easter, dismissal will be at 2:15pm. OSHC and IELC bus times will both be adjusted to allow for this early finish.

13.01.2022 What a glorious day...! We look forward to welcoming all in our community back for another year of learning in 2019. We are pleased to announce that our welcome to the school community this year will centre around Michael OBrien performing an indigenous smoking ceremony.... A smoking ceremony is an ancient Aboriginal custom that involves burning native plants to produce smoke. These cleansing properties are believed to have the ability to ward off bad spirits from the people and land to make a pathway for a brighter future. During the ceremony the smoke is said to connect participants to the spirit world and symbolises peace, healing and justice. We look forward to this special way of welcoming you and your children to begin an exciting year of learning.

Thank you for your understanding in the need for us to make this decision.
