23.01.2022 https://youtu.be/sReNShA1GmY Greetings! Throughout the week I took the opportunity to have a Zoom chat with the Revd Daniel Lowe, Chaplain at St Paul's Anglican Grammar School. As part of our 'Getting to know you' series, I hope you'll enjoy becoming familiar with the people bringing their variety of skills in ministry across the Diocese.

21.01.2022 https://youtu.be/znYHzw6hs1w Greetings! As numbers of worshippers are allowed to gradually increase under the relaxing of Corona Virus restriction, we are pleased to offer a pre-recorded worship from St Paul’s Cathedral Sale for the 21st Sunday after Pentecost in this video. ... This week, the Revd Belinda Seabrook (Associate Curate at Leongatha) preaches on the Gospel reading from Matthew 25. As we have patiently waited for lockdown restrictions to end, we are reminded of the wait that Christians hold for the return of our Saviour. Bishop Richard presides at the Eucharist, with the Cathedral Dean, Susanna Pain assisting. The tradition of ‘spiritual communion’ may be helpful as you watch and listen to this Eucharist, and at the point of distribution of the Sacrament you could say the following prayer: O Lord Jesus Christ, through your tender mercy grant that as the hem of your garment, touched in faith, healed the woman who could not touch your body, so the soul of this your servant may be healed by like faith in you, whom I cannot now sacramentally receive. In union with the faithful at every altar-table in your Church I desire to be united with you, and pray that you will come spiritually into my heart. Let nothing ever separate me from your love, for you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. Please feel free to share this resource with anyone you feel may benefit from it.

20.01.2022 https://youtu.be/MXNvau3rMrc This video connects you with a pre-recorded Eucharist from St Paul’s Cathedral in Sale for the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost. As many churches are currently closed in Victoria, for many households ongoing access to online resources such as this continues to be important, and we are pleased to be able to offer them at this time.... Dean Susanna Pain presides at this service, with the Very Revd. Dean Peter Bickley, Dean of the Sale’s Catholic Cathedral preaching. Cathedral organist Anthony Hahn accompanies the hymns and the setting for the Eucharist, and Jenny Batten helps to lead the singing. Thanks to Christine Morris who is filming the service. Following the service, we recorded a ‘fireside chat’ with Dean Peter Bickley, Dean of Sale’s Catholic Cathedral. You may like to practice the tradition of ‘spiritual communion’ as you watch and listen to this Eucharist, and especially at the point of distribution of the Sacrament in this video. The following prayer may be helpful: O Lord Jesus Christ, Through your tender mercy grant that as the hem of your garment, touched in faith, healed the woman who could not touch your body, so the soul of this your servant may be healed by like faith in you, whom I cannot now sacramentally receive. In union with the faithful at every altar-table in your Church I desire to be united with you, and pray that you will come spiritually into my heart. Let nothing ever separate me from your love, for you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. 07.01.2022 Congratulations to the Revd Graeme Liersch who has been appointed as Rector of Wonthaggi & Inverloch! Graeme is a highly motivated person with a breadth of personal and professional experience. He has served in the RAAF as an Electronics Technician, and as a Philanthropic Welfare Office with the Department of Defence. In early 2016 the Bush Church Aid Society supported Graeme’s appointment as Mission Facilitator and Trainer for Central West QLD (Diocese of Rockhampton), over...seeing ministry in three parishes covering a vast area, whilst continuing as a Reserve Air Force Chaplain and as a Director of two companies that provide philanthropic support to the Defence Forces. Graeme is married to The Revd Susan Liersch, an Occupational Therapist and a trained counsellor and Adolescent and Mental Health Worker. Susan is a Deacon and has just completed a Bachelor of Theology degree. We look forward to welcoming Graeme and Susan to the Diocese in the new year. Please pray for them and the Parish of Wonthaggi & Inverloch as they prepare to embark upon this new stage of ministry together.
