21.01.2022 Bassine Specialty Cheese. Handmade artisan farmhouse cheese. I am so grateful to be working with Kaye and Glen. The farm was established by Attillio and Mary Bisognin in 1966.... Son Glen now looks after the family dairy farm with partner Kaye Courtney, and grandson Luke milking a herd of 180 Holstein Cows. The Cheese making began as a hobby for Kaye and has now flourished into a thriving business. Bassine Specialty Cheeses is a small cheese making factory built to exacting specifications on their 235ac farm. The milk is sourced directly from their own cows. Their HTST pasteuriser has also enabled them to bottle their own milk under the brand name of 'Bass River Dairies'. Delicious jars of feta in flavoured olive oil, semi hard cheese and Bassine Queen Brie cheese are available for our local deliveries

They Mill their own flour and offer beautiful local fresh veggies , garlic , nuts and fruit . 01.01.2022 Im excited to introduce Harman Wines , 2019 bass coast business of the year. David and Nicole Harman, owners and founders of Harman Wines and along with their two children Jenna and James and their dog Matilda, some sheep and chickens they have created a pretty special place. Their dream set sail 15 years ago when a former horse stud small was purchased. Full of dreams and determination they set about establishing the vineyard, building their winery and cellar door, an orc...hard and kitchen garden. Owner David Harman is the winemaker at Harman Wines. Having originally studied and worked in the IT industry the call to winemaking became too loud to ignore. With links to the South Gippsland coast and a love for Pinot Noir the location to make beautiful wines was logical. Fast forward a number of vintages, a vineyard, Winery and cellar door, Davids Winemaking style has evolved through experimentation and the use of old world techniques forgotten in this fast moving world. Sustainable practices are also something the Harmens strive for on daily basis .
